Newb Question..........

I did a search & didn't find anything so please don't get upset at me. My fiance 2003 G35 Coupe is due for the first oil change & not sure what brand of oil to use. We live in South Texas where it is hot all the time. Should I just take it to the dealer & have them do it with what ever they recommened or use a better quality oil & filter like Mobil one synthetic???

Thanks,
Mike

Welcome, Welcome fellow South Texan!

I am near Corpus Christi (Woodsboro). I have 60K on mine and use Mobil 1, 5W30 and have had no issues what so ever. I also use the Mobil M-108 filter.

Let us know where you are and sign in on the "Texas G Riders Roll" thead.

Mobil one, Amsoil, Castrol, and Royal Purple are all good oils... make sure you buy 5W-30 synthetic oil.

And welcome to Driver.

I'm assuming this is your first oil change since buying the car, not the first change a 2003 model has had?
My dealer uses Castrol Syntec 5/30. Mobil One would be good, as are other choices listed above.

I'm still puzzled. Do you mean that you have an almost 4 year old car that had never had the oil changed?

I use Castrol Syntec, the car has low miles and use, and I get it changed around 3500 miles.
