Does G37 make the G35 seem like "OUTDATED"?

the g37 are nice car,but the 35 have nice body line.nice curve and very sexy looking.I still prefer the g35 any day..I had a choice to get the new g37 when they first came out but I chose the g35 for the looks of the body.
You guys should pick up the latest car and driver where they track test 25 of the top coupes on the market. Paraphrasing their words about the G37
"... the stock brakes became overheated after a few laps trying to stop its 3700 lbs frame and we had to pit every three or four laps. The steering didn't feel precise and the car has a bit of body roll. The 330 HP engine didn't feel like 330 HP pushing that much weight around. This car is clearly not meant for the track."
Now... I don't take seriously everything that C&D says as they are clearly a BMW loving magazine, but....this makes you think.
I think these cars were built for 2 different purposes. The G35 was a sporty coupe first and a luxurious coupe second. The G37 is the other way around. The G35 is basically a repackaged 350z with more creature comforts...the G37 is not. They are clearly aimed at 2 separate market segments. I bought my coupe brand new in 2003 and she had 6 KM on her and was one of the first 100 coupes sold in Canada. I drove a G37...it is way way more of a creature comfort car inside. I must admit...the inside is awesome...but the handling isn't what I would consider crisp. The engine is nice but the car feels heavy.
If that is what you want, then go buy one. Me personally, I wanted a 350z with a backseat, and that's what I got.

The weight has me reconsidering my plans to buy the G37 sedan. I was pretty excited before the new test articles started coming out. They all seem to indicate that the increased power is offset by the increased weight. The other new features would be nice, but I'm now considering other brands and the next 350Z.
IMO the new G35 sedan looks better than the older sedan and the older coupe looks better than the newer coupe! and interior is not my preference! The g35 interior has everything in a uncluttered and clean manner and does not distract from the whole purpose of being a drivers car! i would rather have the NVH and stay more connected to the whole driving than have a ultra refined cabin and feel alienated from the whole driving experience!
That was one of the main reasons why i sold my benz to get the G35! windows down! hear the exhaust! feel the engine! (literally) and all the distinction to a G37 blurs away!

The only thing the G37 has is a better interior IMO. Personally, I have not been inside of one yet, but the style is much much nicer in the G37. Of course, you can renovate everything in the G35 with all of the money you save
But if you have the money, and your just looking for a DD that you not gonna mod that much as in no turbo or anything, go with the G37.

this has been beaten to death enough times... let sleeping dogs lie... its a freggin preference... For instance... I would take a R32 over the R35... Would I feel outdated in one? ask yourself that
i had a choice between keeping my G35 or getting the new G37
my dad offered to help me out on the payments too, so it would have been easy to own one
but i said no, the G35 is my dream car, same goes for most of the people on this forum, you just have to remember that the G37 got its shape and concept from the G35, the original, i see a lot of g37's now in bc, i go beside them, they look at MY car, i don't look at theres, i didn't buy a g35 to go super fast, i get stares from people with all kinds of cars, and they compliment me, i don't see people giving stares to the g37....IMHO G37 or not as good as the G35, it only has speed and it is HARD to customize it in a GOOD way to make it your own unique car, a lot of wheels do not look good on a g37, SOME do tho
but our G35's can go in sooo many different directions, ours can go vip look, sport tuner look, luxury look, and unfortunately rice look....i think that the g37 can go only luxury look, but some g37's out there do look nice when it is tastefully done up to make it look like a sporty luxury look, but then again, i havn't seen a g37 done up at all in bc, not even wheels put on, so i guess my opinion is pretty constrictive to bc, im sure in the states there are a lot of done up g37's
but thats just one man's opinion

The G37 does look a lot like SC430, not a good thing according to most folks. It's heavier, bigger, not anywhere near as lean looking as the G35. I had a chance to get a fully loaded one for 4-5K more when I biught my 2K6 coupe. I personally don't care for it at all. Now, does that make it a bad choice or make my coupe look outdated? In what world? Most people that are nor car fans have no clue what year BMW 3 series, Mustangs, or Accords run the roads. Just enjoy your car and don't worry about it. I've been driving mine a lot lately and let me tell ya. Right at 3K, with the windows rolled down, you won't care what anyone else thinks. Enjoy your G, 35 or 37, whatever it is.
