If he's asking then it matters to him.

I have thought about this too. All I can say is that I STILL get compliments on my car almost weekly.

Thing is, in Dallas, where I see Bentley, Lotus, Aston Martin, Ferrari, etc. daily (anyone who's spent more than one afternoon in Uptown or Highland/University Park knows this is absolutely true) I have still only seen maybe 3 G37 coupes around. Where the hell are they all?

What's the problem? The guy can't ask a question? I guess we can ask if there's a point to ANYTHING we post in the forum huh?

There's no problem, it's rude when someone makes a post and then some guy comes and asks "why are you asking that and why does it matter and why does it make a difference?", well obviously it matters to him if he's asking, and it may make a difference in his mind.

You know god forbid we have any other threads to talk about aside from what exhaust sounds the best and where to buy clear corners.

first off, any new car is meant to make the older car seem "outdated". also, comparing a certain car on its home forum over another car will give biased answers.

the g35 set a mold for newer cars to evolve. without a doubt, the g35 was an amazing ride during its time and i absolutely loved it before i got the g37. owning both cars at the same time made me realize how much of an overall improvement the g37 was over the g35. i got over driving my g35 pretty quickly because the g37 was superior in every regard, ie. clutch/tranny, interior, performance, handling, ergonomics, looks (my opinion while looking at the cars side by side), technology, etc etc etc. in my mind

compared to my 2004 G:
technology wise - rear backup camera, intelligent cruise control, 9.3gb hard drive for music, cd ripping program, voice controlled everything, dvd player, keyless entry/ingition, ipod dock, xm satellite, live satellite/navi traffic update, memory seats, inflatable seat cushioning, bluetooth

body wise: adaptive headlights that turn with the steering wheel, stiffer frame leading to better handling, better looks (objective), more updated headlight projectors and led taillights, 19in rims vs my 18s, 14 in brakes that work better than my brembos,

performance: 50 more BHP over my g35. i raced an automatic g37 with my g35 6spd and got smoked. handling once again. bigger brakes, etc.

comparing stats and text of one car over the other leads to a no brainer over which car would make the other one seem more outdated. if you dont believe numbers and features, just think of it this way... any new object can make the older object not as interesting due to exposure, therefore making it seem outdated compared to the newer variation. the g35 is amazing, and outdated is not necessarily a bad thing, it just signifies a step forward in the evolutionary upgrade to a car.

anyone up for another shot and a long chat?

That's true, I thought you were adding to the rudeness that was said before about the point of this thread. +1 to that last point, I dont want to be the noob that asks about the best exhaust sound...

I rarely post but I will say that I agree 100%. I'm not a huge fan of the G37's looks either, I just don't think it has the aggressive stance the 2005-2006 G35 had with the Rays wheels. Just my $.02.

i dont think i feel out dated like saying

MK3 Supra VS MK4 Supra

its more like
Lexus SC300 vs SC430 in a way, but we G35 coupers look way more aggresive

Just to add.... I just park MY G35 beside a G37S here at work. Same color Ivory white, (mine just have debage Inifiniti letters, black rear valence vinly and spoiler in the back) after I park A Doctor ask me what year is your car?? I told him its 04, "his like, it looks better than the other car eventhough its more recent model." so I don't think our cars are really outdated by g37... "its all the about who really appreciate the beauty of the car even its old or new."

If you dislike the G37, drive one... it'll change your mind. If it doesn't, you need to get your head checked. The G35 is badass, the G37 is just more car.
