But without a doubt, the G35 is a dated car in terms of technology and creature comforts. Nevertheless I love the way it looks and I think that's all that matters. There are people driving really old cars that are still happy with them, it's all about perspective; if you always want the newest and best then of course you won't be happy with an old model car.

When I see a G37 on the road do I think I wish I had one? Not really, I think it's an ugly looking car. Do I wish I had the interior and technological refinements? Absolutely.

you ARE DRIVING THE OLD MODEL, you just have to love the car and not worry about having the new model like society loves. I like havin the new car, every does, makes you feel like you are a trend setter.

eh.. I'll just wait for the 09TL to come out. But if I don't sell my G, then I'll keep it for 4+ years and by then, a new designl should be out for the G37.

hopefully, they will mix and match the design that made the G35 one of their best selling model, and the interior of the 07 sedan/08 coupe..

Maybe something that actually resembles the concept w/o the tacky mirrors.

I think the reason is that G35's have been out for five years, and the G37 has been out for about five months.

Referring to a stock 05G35C 6mt and 08G35C 6mt. I do not think the 08 is much quicker, if at all due to the extra weight. I believe I read this on the site somewhere.

I live in the Tampa Bay area and have only seen two G37's on the road since they came out. I think the economy is hurting car sales and the G37's price increase over the G35 didn't help sales either. The housing bust is really hurting the economy in Florida.

The odd thing to me is when I looked at the G37 at the dealer, it visually seems like a smaller car than the G35. Anybody concur with this?

Well I guess we would have to define what "much" means then. It's obviously not the difference between a 14.0 and a 12.0, but it IS 4/10ths of a second and I see people doing mods and ripping out interior parts for those kinds of gains. Most of the comparisons that say the performance is not much better than the G35 are talking about the 2007 sedan.

You can think what you want, but I owned them both, and there's a big difference in performance in my eyes. Consider that the G37 put down 287RWHP compared to 236RWHP for an 07 G35 Coupe. The 1st gen coupe does 13.9@100, whereas even in the conservative magazine tests (13.8) they show the 08 is at 100mph at 13.0 before clocking a fairly mediocre overall time.

Also, 1st gen G35 coupe 0-150: 54.3s
G37 Coupe 0-150: 36s

The difference in weight between a 2005 G35 Coupe 6MT and a 2008 G37 6MT is 156lbs. You don't seriously think that's going to completely negate a 50RWHP difference, do you? Nevermind that the G37 has a shorter final gear due to the higher redline and thus multiplies that power through the lower gears more than the G35C.

I'll stop jacking this guy's thread now (sorry OP) but as a former 06 owner I'm tired of other coupe owners being in total denial. PM me if you want to continue our friendly debate

The trend setter is not you driving the new car. It's the automakers. Yes, we as consumers have an effect on it by buying into the new car or not.

The new 08's looks almost the same as the old...same chassis or whatever you want to call it, they look the same. The old style actually is the trend setter.

Time will tell.

There are plenty of instances where previous generation cars became more beloved than the later generation cars that replace them in automotive history.

It also depends on what you are looking for in a car: I like my sportscars to be more basic, driving machines where I can escape from all of the aspects of technology designed to keep me attached to my work life. Like the 350Z for instance--three ***** control everything in the car--BRILLIANT! When I had an 2007 G35 sedan loaner I think there were 7 different ways to change the radio station!!! WTF??

For me, the G35 is timeless and every day I walk out to my garage I still gaze at it in awe. Please give me the G37 motor and keep everything else and I would be one happy camper!!

I think the only thing better about the g37 is the factory performance upgrades, plus the total interior upgrades. The inside of a 35 w/ nav is hot, but now all 37's have the screen that updates you on maintenance ect just like the old 35 with nav does. Car's hot but honestly compared to a 35 hands down the 35 still pulls looks faster!

I love my 07 AB G35 coupe (used to have an 03 LR). It kinda reminds me of a cut bodybuilder, mean and raw, whereas the G37 looks more curvaceous, womanly even (not that it's a bad thing). My wife and I are trying to decide between the G35 and a new G37 in a few months. As others have already posted, we both prefer the look of the G35, but love the creature comforts of the G37. I'm most likely going to keep the G35 for another year and wait for my Nissan GTR (hopefully without any markup). The GTR has that crazy, aggressive look I love about the G35, plus slightly better performance

Unless of course Nissan/Infiniti decides to introduce a revised G37 with AWD, twin turbos, and a retractable hardtop

No, and does it really matter? Who cares if it's "outdated?" What difference does it make if it is?
