Best intake for gas mileage

Most everyone knows that adding an intake will give you minute horsepower gains, not even noticable, but it will improve gas mileage. If you have or had an aftermarket intake please state the brand and any changes, positive or negative, in gas mileage you have had and to what degree. Thanks.

I suspect the differences one way or another would be negligible with any aftermarket intake... I noticed no difference one way or another (tank-to-tank variation is always 0.5-1.0mpg anyhow) after my Z-tube/Stillen intake was installed.

No difference in gas mileage....?

There may not be difference in gas mileage between OEM and Stillens CAI.
But consider some of the other intakes that suffer from heat soak and don't
have a adequate shield against heat between the filter and engine heat. They look
great under your hood but once heat takes over down goes mileage and
HP too. It's a fine line we walk between pretty and functional!

a Z-Tube with the stock airbox and a K&N or Amsiol drop in filter should help very little but will help...

I've had CAI's and WAI's for several cars over the last 10 years. I save all of my gas receipts and I keep ongoing logs of my mileage. I have never noticed any significant increases from any type of aftermarket intake no matter how gingerly you drive your car. Intakes simply do not give you noticeable increases. Heat soak has never been a problem on G35's, Maxima's or Altimas and there is generally no temp difference in the air going into the manifold. Each has their pros and cons. One gives better low end hp/tq numbers and the other gives better high end hp/tq numbers, but they generally do not give significant gains and they definately aren't good price/performance mods. After stating that, I must say they do sound good.
