hey i recently removed my cats, resonator, and muffler on my G35 and its straight pipe from the headers all the way to chrome tips. i was wondering will the police stop and ticket you for the loud exhaust in New york city? anyone have any thoughts on this? if u drive at low rpms by cop cars will they ticket you for the rumbling sound? its not like im gonna floor the gas next to a cop car and deafen them lol, it sounds like a monster now, cheers!

u aint even in new york. do they pull over those LOUD ****** Harley Davidsons? NO, NEVER!

 

You may get away with the straight pipes for a while, but sooner or later your going to run into a cop who will give you a ticket.

Before that happens, I suggest you take a run thru the lincoln tunnel at 2 or 3 in the morning, and video the sounds at W.O.T.

Do I need to be in N.Y. to respond to a dumb question? Read all the Cali post about them getting tickets for 50 state legal exhausts. I've been pulled over for loud exhaust on my Harley and I still had the baffels in my pipes...I'm pretty sure a cop will hear that and pull you over thats all...I'm all for the loud exhaust but good luck with driving with that exhaust everyday

 

well if i buy a Mercedes S65 AMG V12 it sounds LOUD STOCK from the factory. no is that illegal? NO, my 6 cylinder doesnt sound as loud as that or a harley and im not saying im going to floor it next to the cops, but drive slow. and at low RPMs 2-3k rpm it just sounds like a expensive high performance bmw or porsche. those cars come stock from factory with loud exhausts and they are NOT illegal. has anyone here who lives in New York City ever been pulled over cause their fart can is "too" loud?

I get what your saying with the high end cars but a straight piped exhaust on a G is alot louder that a AMG exhaust IMO

 

honestly if u need to ask if its going to be too loud, u have never heard a car with straight pipes before. you will most likely get hassled.

 

I found get that resolved. Getting pulled over like that is a hassle. But I am sure you already know that.
