Same as the comparison between a 2nd gen G35 and G37; the sedan feels more planted because the suspension is softer. You approach the limit more gradually, and the car feels more stable.

Yes, I prefer how the sedan drives to the coupe as well.

Anyway your g35 vs g37 comparison disappoints me -- as I cannot afford a G37

So the chassis seems like it is definitely a different platform...or is it just simple braces & suspension... or is that wishful thinking?

dang I really really like the g35 but all these SUV comments...man... and I should definitely take one out for a test drive... but ultimately I think I may be just picking hairs and would need to take it to the track to really get a feeling...Anyone wanna let me borrow their G35 for a day?
Well we're talking stock here... I'm sure you can buy a G35 coupe, add a strut tower brace and an aftermarket suspension w/ a bit of drop and it'll do just fine.... right ?

I can't imagine just because the cars are this way stock that that means you can't get a G35 coupe to feel much more like or even better than a stock g37...

But yes, the platform is much improved with a quoted 40% stiffness improvement. Still... I think w/ some good carefully chosen mods a g35 coupe will hold it's own in ride/handling.

wow 40% thats pretty huge... so we are talking a probably entirely different platform or a very modified one, I wonder if the dimensions are the same as the G35

The dimensions between the 1st gen and 2nd gen are almost identical... they're within 1 inch of each other in every dimension

I don’t know about the coupe, but in 07 the sedan has 50% more welds... the 07 compared to 03-06 is night and day! Handling, acceleration, much less body flex, looks, everything is much better.

BTW - the G37 = not much to brag about... It was way less than stellar - I was expecting sooo much more from that car.

I'd recommend a 2nd gen sedan - over all of them... or a used first gen sedan or coupe (depending on your taste).
