best g35 model year to buy?

Hi there I am new to the site. I searched through the forums and noticed there was not a question regarding my topic. I was wondering what the best yr to buy a g35 coupe is?

Are having brembo brakes better to have then the better interior on the newer models. Or is it better to buy newer and just buy the brakes seperately?

And if it is better to buy the brembos after, about how much coin is that gonna cost me.

Thanks.

Unfortunately this has been discussed, beaten to death, kicked while dead, then resurrected and discussed again, and again, and again.

Instead of saying "search harder" I'll give you my $0.02 really quickly.

'04>'03
'03 was the first year, '04 worked out the kinks, it's newer, has TPMS, etc.

'06='07>'05
Why buy an '05? Everything is nicer on '06+. Search and you can find more.

'04='06 (debatable either direction)
'06 is newer, has a nicer interior, will have a longer time on the warranty, has 20 more HP, but weighs a bit more and has 10 ft-lbs LESS torque than the '04 and no Brembo brakes (this is all in terms of 6MT)

If you read around the site you'll hear about oil consumption on '05+ revup 6MTs and...... I'm done - happy searching!

I woud say buy whatever model fits your budget. If I had the money, I would have bought an '07 (not a fan of the G37). But there are some differences:

a) headlights (newer is better)
b) spoiler (newer isn't quite so BIG)
c) taillights (newer doesn't have ugly reverse circles)
d) wheels (the Rays 19" OEM wheels are a good look)

a) headlights are easy to replace
b) so is the spoiler (some, such as myself, prefer the older one)
c) so are the taillights
d) Most people get aftermarket rims

With the money you could save on an '04 vs. '06, you could do all these things and more.

Nonetheless, you really can't go wrong with any of the years. The interior of the '05+ is nicer in subtle ways, but I came from such a beater car that any interior would've been a huge upgrade

the only thing I cannot stand in older (03-04) models is interior.

IMO 05 is the best year to start from. Unless you really really really want Brembos and don't care about the interior.

Rest of the upgrades that came after 05 are minor and irrelevant.

You can save more $ by purchasing 05 and upgrading it to look like 06 or 07 rather then buying 06 or 07

+1 on both comments... The '05+ guys (and all the AT guys) have never had the experience of having nearly everyone next to you at stop lights stare at your stock brakes.

I have an 06 6MT, all the options except built in navigation. If Brembos is all what I am missing then I can easily just upgrade those.

Yeah, but it'll be harder to make your car drop 90 pounds, gain a power outlet and gain 10ft-lbs of torque.
