New member... need some opinions.

Last week my RSX was totaled because of some idiot, luckily im not liable and that my insurance company is giving me some cash.

Now this weekend I will be shopping for a 2005 G35 Coupe 6MT (always wanted one) so my questions is... the one I was looking at is really clean, but it has side bumpers on it (just so theres no confusion not talking about a body kit) the side bumpers are color matched, but im just not used to seeing them on a G35s. It doesnt look bad, but thought I would get some opinions.

also any advice before I go shopping? whats the average insurance like?

sorry just really excited.

I have an 04 6MT and I pay about 100 bucks through Geico (Great coverage too). I have also seen pics of G's with those side bumpers but never in person. I'll be intrested to find out why some cars have them. My little bit of advise is if your not buying it from an infiniti dealer go to the closest one and have them pull up the service history. It'll give you a little insight on the car.

Well if the car is for a good price get it. You can always remove the side bumper and get a different one to your liking.

Yeah I think he's refering to the door guards. I'm guessing they were an option or something not many people got??? Anyway they don't look bad and you'll have a sweet car

probably door guards then. basically whats runs along the doors and a little towards the back.

Yea, ive never really seen them on a G35 so wasnt sure if i liked it or not. But like I said it doesnt look bad, what I dont want though... thats on the car is the spoiler.. if you take those off are holes present?

thanks for the info folks... counting down the hours to get off work so I can do some car shopping.

Yeah If you remove the spoiler you going to have holes. You can always get them filled in and the trunk repainted but it will prolly cost more than its worth. I think the side guards look fine. They will even give your G a little different look as well.

thanks, I purchased a 2005 G35 Coupe 6MT over the weekend... its too bad that I have to wait a couple of days for them to ship it over to the closest dealer. It has all the options I wanted, black interior, no spoiler, sport package etc.

the wait is killing me.
