The 07-08 V36 Sedan was a good 150 lbs lighter than the V36 Coupe. But the Coupe also had the stronger engine which nullifies the differences between the two.
Any V35 Coupe/Sedan is lighter than any V36. But power wise, the VQ35HR/VQ37VHR is superior. The V36 is a good few tenths quicker at the drag strip than any V35.

Coupe hands down.
When i first wanted a g35 it was always about the coupes.
Yes I thought about the sedan in my buying process, however IMO the coupe looks sportier (2dr) yet still is luxurious. The look sold me from day one.
Its the perfect mix for what you are looking for based on your description.
Dont be scared about the Oil issue, i got mine with 24k miles on it, now at 29k no issues what so ever.

I envy the V36's interior & engine. But other than that, the V35 Coupe satisfies all my needs.
I wouldn't mind driving a V36 sedan if I needed the extra room & extra doors.

Im kind of sick of getting those dumb remarks from people "Oh you drive a 4 door, you must be an old man."

janik performance wise a coupe and sedan fell the same, but IMO the coupe "feels" sportier cause it give more of a "cockpit" feel which makes it feel like a sports car. A sedan has slot more open space inside, doesn't really give you that feeling that you're in a sports car. That is JMO! Sedans are sexy too though

Outside of the G community, nobody likes sedans... on the local forum, my car has not been complimented on once, the other coupes on it are called sexy ect, all the time...

I have a 6MT coupe, when it was being serviced last week I got a 08 auto sedan as a loaner... it is an amazing car and a beast to drive. The sedan will have the better interior, but my when I got my coupe back it just has so much sex appeal and sounds better... coupe if you want something more sporty

I say 2nd Gen sedans FTW! I never drove a 1rst Gen coupe. So can't really say anything on that note. But the first time I test drove the new Sedans, I was so Impressed with the power, the Interior was 100 times better than the old one! and loved the looks of the 2nd Gen! that whole pacage sold me!
Now when comapring handling to the coupes. well if you had a loaner car, most likely it was a base model, or an X model for those guy's on the mainland, driving those like it was a sport, you will come away with crappy results. since those have the softer suspension, and crappy all season tires!! now if you compared it to a "SPORT" model. i think you mind would say it's close to the 1rst gen coupes, and better than the 1st Gen Sedans. Hope this Helps your decision from a Sedan owner! good luck!
