Question 07-08 Sedan Sport or 06-07 Coupe?...(6mt)

07-08 Sedan Sport VQ HR
Pros
1. Superior Interior
2. Superior Engine
3. Slightly faster
4. No Oil Consumption ***
5. Full room backseat / Don't really need it.

06-07 Coupe VQ Rev-Up
Pros
1. Superior exterior
2. 19" forged wheels
3. Two Door Sports Car
4. ??? Better Handling ???
5. Exhaust tone

The main factor here is the oil consumption. Although Infiniti has stepped up and started swapping engines it hasn't proved to be a permanent "fix".

Another concern here is how the cars handle. I've driven a 06 Auto Coupe with the 19's and Sport Suspension and loved it.
How does the 07+ Sport Sedan 6mt compare to a 06-07 G35 Coupe 6mt or even a G37 Sport.

I'm young so there's really no need for a four door. I thought about the new 350z but I definitely don't like how it's only a two seater. I like the coupe more but don't want to spend the money if I'm going to be hassled by oil consumption. I can't imagine how the oil consumption affects the engine in the long run.

I'm into performance and luxury. Friends have various STI's and EVO's and I've thought about buying one but that's not the scene I'm going for. I can't imagine myself going to work with professional attire and coming out of an STI or Evo. My girlfriend calls it a "match-box car". I love the raw performance of it but it just doesn't suit me right now. It's hard to buy a "pig"(g35) knowing that the only way I would be quicker than my colleagues is if I go FI. I don't think it's worth it and would much rather save up for an m3 in the long run.

What would you get and why?

Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading this long thread.

Mostly agree with all the posts so far. As for the exhaust you can just buy after market for the sedan.

I added a poll to see what everyone would vote for..

Anyone have experience with both? I don't have the time to test drive but I probably will before I purchase one. I'm curious on how they both handle side by side. Would they achieve the same track times?

Thanks again,

Adam

I have driven both, I've got an 06 coupe and my old roomate has an 07 S sedan, the sedan just felt like it rolled too much and didn't handle nearly as well as my coupe, its hard for a direct comparison though, as I have 350z h-techs and hotchkis swaybars and wide tires

Driven the 07 loaner sedans. They're nice...HR hauls azz, but always can't wait to get back into my 06 6mt coupe.
Coupe has my vote.

Interesting, you would still choose the coupe while going through the oil consumption issue? Maybe, it's not that bad. Decisions, Decisions. I wish there were 2007 g37's

AFAIK, the 2nd gen G sedan will outhandle a 1st gen G coupe, at least based on my subjective feel.

On a big sweeping turn, the old coupe will be faster, but the new sedan has better turn-in response and feel.

The VDC on the new sedan is FAR FAR FAR superior to the old coupe.
