Have a question on dash lights for 05 rev up coupe

2005 G35 coupe sport 6MT... on the dash the VDC off, SLIP, and BRAKE lights are on.. no abs.. the brake light constantly comes on and off.. I think that may be due to low brake fluid level.. i checked it and the level just barely just above the MIN line. So could that low fluid level be causing on these lights to come up?

All of this started ever since I got new FRONT tires.. they are on about 99% of the time but they occasionally go away for a few seconds..

Rear tires are near bald but they do not spin out... Can anyone tell me how to fix this asap? Its getting extremely annoying.. with the VDC off i get no traction.

Thanks!

It sounds like time for new brake pads. Caliper pistons have positioned closer to rotor surface. That's why brake fluid is low in reservoir. Temporarily it's OK to fill your master brake cylinder reservoir with brake fluid - DOT 3 spec should be fine. That should make VDC and ABS re-activate.

Its exactly what I experienced this 18 months ago in my 2003 coupe.

Your taking a big chance running on near bald tires or anything with less than 3/32" of tread depth. Especially given that the rears are the traction tires.

I had this as well on my sedan, once warmed up the light would go off, i added a bit more brake fluid and put it half way to the full line and haven't seen the light since

Well if you had them done at a shop take it back. or just fill the brake fluid reservoir yourself.

You have to ask: Why is the brake fluid low?

When pads were changed, assuming that is what was done at service, was the brake line properly bled? Was the brake fluid reservoir topped to specs afterwards?

Check the Technical Sub-forums on Brakes where there a few threads on the issue.
