Performance Chips??

Hey guys ive seen some ads for performace chips that give"50 HP,50TQ,5mpg and things like that. Is there any chips that work for the prices that are offered like these chips? Is it worth it?

Ah, you must be talking about those ebay chips...

There is no such thing as a chip like that... you can't gain 50hp, 50tq, and 5mpg from any kind of tune, no matter what car you drive.

If those chips work like they claim, we'd be all over them a long time ago, and you'd see plenty of threads about which ebay chip is the best.

Those ebay chips are nothing more than a 4.7k ohm, 1/2 watt resistor that will basically make your motor think it's constantly a lower temperature of 57°F, so your ECU will increase the timing.

Unless you have a turbo diesel. Some of their chips do in fact increase power by more than 50HP/50TQ.

But yes, N/A gasoline engine?? Off-the shelf chips are crap. Custom dyno burned chips are the way to go, but don't expect much gain N/A anyway
