strange sound coming from diff or trans

I would like to speak to you of a problem which I have with my G35, Infiniti does not succeed in finding it... When I leave my tank and that I roll when he is still cold (15F), has a noise it very stident and intense who comes from the middle back, especially when I move faster.

After the vehicle is hot, its stop. I beleive that could be my transmission or diff. Somebody had this prob? Any idea? Thank you! (I think that Infiniti tries to postpone the prob because my warranty will finish soon)

They already change my tranms fluid and change nothing

pls help me

I had no problems until I change both the transmission (6 sp. manual) and differential fluids. I used the viscosity recommended in the manual, Royal Purple full synthetic and it whines at low temperatures until it warms up after about a mile or two. I will change fluids again soon using a different brand. (any recommendations will be appreciated from anyone using other brands of synthetic fluids)

If you are talking about a "whining" sort of noise, I have the same problem in my 06 too. The dealership I bought mine from also sells Porsche's and told me that both do it when the car is cold and that nothing was wrong. I don't drive mine in the snow and I am still under warranty so I sort of put it out of mind. Let me know if you find anything out about this.

i have this problem as well and have read from so many g drivers, there are many threads about this but they all say it's not an issue.
all the dealers are saying that it is normal in our cars in cold starts and we should gave them some time to warm up.

I have this problem now. I have a 5AT and recently picked up a 3.5FD VLSD pumpkin from someone local with a 04 6MT. After having it installed last night I started hearing this noise.

It's very annoying and prominent from around 35MPH to about 65. It doesn't matter if I'm accelerating, decelerating or letting it coast. The noise is still there. It's also there when I use sport shift and auto d mode.

The seller and I are going to change the fluids tomorrow and see if it solves the problem. Hopefully it's a quick fix otherwise we'll have to switch back to my stock 3.3FD open diff pumpkin
