Infiniti g35 coup vs mustang gt pros cons?
Well i rented a ford mustang gt in Vegas. My persoanl feelings r the G is a better handling car, braking, interior nicer and a nicer car to drive...Overall if you trade your Infiniti in you will get a better trade in then a mustang...
I dont know how true a stang beating a G cuz just last nite i smoked a GT...Started even raced for about 1/4 mile i won but maybe he didnt know how 2 drive i was going 6k rpm though and he sounded stock i dont have much engine mods NA babee lol
Your getting an auto, so get an 05+, much less problems and a much nicer interior. If you want a 6MT 05+ G, it has a rev-up motor which has a problem with oil consumption in some motors. It is replaced under warranty though, and that engine is not available to auto G35s.
I traded in my '03 Mustang GT for my '06 G35x.
You can't compare the two, so don't bother. The Mustang is a cheap performance car. My '03 was $26K on the sticker, while my G35 was nearly $40K. If you compare the two cars, the more expensive car should have a better interior and better fit and finish.
Straight line, the Mustang would prob beat a stock G35 in most situations. The aftermarket is also HUGE for the Mustang. If you want to upgrade something, you have maybe a dozen or so companies to choose from.
In terms of Reliability, Ford is not as bad as everyone thinks. They have actually ranked higher than Nissan in recent years. In 5 years and 70K miles I did not have a single issue with my Mustang. Very few rattle, no noise over bumps and it ran like new never had to bring it in for warranty and never had to repair/replace a single component. On the other hand I am already planning on taking my G35 in for warranty work with 30K miles for blown compression rods, a random airbag light and this annoying windshield creak over offset bumps. Plus read through the threads and you'll see plenty of threads on OC, leaking valve covers, 6-spd trans issues. bad compression rods, creaking rear windows, and a Stereo that likes to crap out taking half the interior electronics along with it. To be honest, the OC issue is a little scary. I would not want to purchase a car knowing there is a chance I would need to replace the entire engine...even if under warranty. My point is all those saying Ford's have issues should really look at some of the issues that plague these cars.
Which is the better car for you all depends on what you want to do. If you are looking for a cozy daily driver, then it's G35 all the way. The creature comforts don't compare when i hop in in my G35, turn on the seat warmer, set heat to 75, toss a CD in the Bose, turn on the HID's and set a destination in my OEM Nav. If you want a cheap fun, easy to mod/maintain car, then it's the Mustang. The lack of fancy electronics means less stuff to break.
To be honest, ever since trading in my GT in Nov, i've been bored driving my G35. I kinda want to try to pick up a used GT to bang gears in and get sideways since you can find them pretty cheap. I have a 5.0 I'm building up but it's nowhere near done and i'll prob baby it way too much so I might snag another 99-04 GT cheap for some summer fun

When I bought my G i test drove a newer model GT and I hated that thing. I drove about a block off the lot and turned right around. It just didn't really seem as well built as the G. I had my mind set on a G tho so I don't know if that had any influence on it. The GT was def faster in a straight line like everyone has said. But once you hit those twisties the G is gone. A few small mods on the G and we could keep up with a GT.
Who has fun in straight lines tho for real. Its all about those windy roads!
Get the G you wont regret it.

the easy mods for a mustang still don't add up to how great the g looks. For an affordable street performance car the g is at the top looks wise. Although my stang looks awesome to me, im starting to get older and feel abit like a redneck in it. Loud pipes and just the shape in general are starting to get old.
First car was a 69 Mach 1, so I do have a place in my heart for stangs.
Have owned a couple of SVT Cobras and they were great.
Out of the box, they looked to be sitting on jack stands.
I lowered mine with Steeda springs and CC plates....made a HUGE difference.
BUT, I no longer have a cobra....have a G35 Coupe. Very different animal.
For straight line, get a cobra and stick a SC on it.
But, for every day driving enjoyment thru the twisties or just riding, get a G!!!!
The G will give you a better driving experience than a mustang.
You REALLY have to drive both and you will see.
1/4 mile and 0 to 60 ain't everything.
just my .02

I used to be all about mustangs. Had 3 of them actually. One turbo another supercharged and one N/A. Then I drove a G. I sold them all and got the G35. Sorry but I don't think anything compares to the beauty and handling of a G.

Two completely different cars. Considering that its an older 03 Mustang GT, there 100 pros for the G35 Coupe compared to one for the Mustang GT (aside from any subjective views, if any).
The ONLY thing I can think of that an 03 Mustang GT has over the G35 Coupe is that its easier to modify. Parts are cheap, and they produce good power. Stock for stock, an 03 Mustang GT is not going to out accelerate a G35 6MT. And handling wise, no competition from the GT.
My brother has an 08 Mustang GT and its a great car. I still wouldn't buy one, but the s197 Mustangs (05+) are the only Mustangs that might be worth a look unless you go back to the classic 1967 Shelby's

Im real close to getting an 05 g35. Trading an 03 mustang gt. Just wanted to know if any I you have expierenced the differences such as handling drivability and overall performance. They seam to be a close in horsepower ratings. Does anyone have any advise? Looks wise there is no comparison to me seein the g35 is the nicest out there in my opinion
Its much easier/cheaper to mod a mustang for performance, but the quality and feel of the G is much better. The Mustang has a nice sound to it, but the noise is deceptive - you think you're accelerating faster than you are. Perhaps its all in my head, but I actually feel like the stang resists acceleration compared to the G

As far as handling, I think stock for stock both have as much body roll (although the stang feels more 4x4ish), but a set of aftermarket sways makes a world of difference on the G. Looks...well, I'm biased, but there is no comparison in my mind

Good luck in your decision!!!
