i have a 2008 G35S 6mt, i came out of a 2006 stang GT ...
i really loved the torque on the mustang, i mean it just takes off from the line but on the freeway i think my G35 is faster for some reason,i might be wrong because i dont know the exact numbers on both cars, but my experience the G is faster on the freewway. and much better MPG!!! and much more options!

It probably has to do with the Mustang V8 upper rpm hp is not as good as the VQ.

My experience has been 5 1/2 years with the G35 sedan, an 1 week with a convertible Mustang on vacation in Florida.

The 2 downsides I had with the Mustang (probably some of it was due to it being a convertible) was tight head space when entering/exiting car. And of course a tiny back seat. The lack of back doors is expected

It handled better than I expected, even with the base V6. I don't push my G35 as hard as some people, so the lower HP wasn't an issue.

So, if I wanted to change to a coupe, I would seriously consider it. Much lower cost for a new vehicle. And I don't have an animosity toward American cars, having owned a 97 F150 for 7 years.

A nice car is nice. But I almost feel I have to keep a nicer car for longer to make up for the extra cost. After 5 1/2 years, it is still nice, but not pristine anymore

Not for me

25-26 MPG highway with 87 octane in my '03 GT

22-23MPG highway with 93 octane in my G35x

And i drive 50 miles highway per day!

But i don't care. When you do out the math is ~ $5 week more to commute in my G35. It's worth it to me for the comfort, luxury, smoothness and the AWD in the winter!

I did too don't get me wrong. There were days I would go through half a tank of gas and never leave my city!

But when i have to commute 250 miles per week, i started doing the little things to gain MPG and kept track of it.

Right now my previous V8 Mustang is beating my current G35 by 2-3 highway MPG.

Of course my modded 5.0 Mustang gets 12MPG...but different story there

A couple of years ago I rented a V6 Mustang and is sucked sooooo bad. It was my first and only time I ever drove a Mustang and I was really disappointed. Since it was a rental I decided to do a few burnouts and some donuts. It was pretty sad. I think if it had a LSD and a little more power it might have made a better impression on me. I really hope the V8 is a big improvement over the V6.

When I was shopping for my G, I ran across an '07 Mustang GT California Special. The car looked really hot, but I feared the gas mileage because I commute 35 miles one-way. Now that I have my G, I see that I'm getting V8 gas mileage out of a V6 engine. In the end f*ck the mileage, my G is the sh*t! I can't wait to get behind the wheel every day. sometimes when I'm at work, I'll just go outside just to see it sitting in the parking lot. I think I spend as much on car washes, waxes, and amor-all, as I do on gas.

Yup, v6's are totally different. Different springs, smaller brakes, softer shocks, smaller sway bars, less HP and different ring and pinion usually.

They are for people who just want the image of a Mustang and completely miss the point of owning one.

Take your 6MT coupe...and stuff a 150HP 4-cylinder in there with softer suspension and smaller brakes. Same concept really

my friend has a 09 GT 45th Anniversary edition and i actually like it. Btw the stang is a ***** magnet too bcus every idiot who doesnt know a thing about a car knows that a stang is a fast car. But i hate the interior in it and even he admits on how bad it looks inside but me and him both love the big v8 and crazy torque it make down low.
