manual shift mode

manual shift mode

when im using my manual shift mode on my automatic 2004 g35 coupe, what rpm/speeds would be best to shift at for each gear?

There is no simple answer to that question. It depends on what you are trying to do. If you are trying to accelerate, you want to shift closer to redline. If you are trying to save gas, shift very early.

ive never driven manual so im not exactly sure about this either. im just wondering if im just using it driving around town for fun, not trying to get maximum acceleration, what would be best? my manual says for the manual transmission coupe...

1st to 2nd gear @ 8mph
2nd to 3rd gear @ 16 mph
3rd to 4th gear @ 25 mph
4th to 5th gear @ 28 mph

is that about right?

It really depends on what kind of driver you are. Even if you try and drive the same you cant really put a number at what rpm to shift at. It's all on the feel. Uphill, downhill, corner, on and on
