A little over 100k the last 2 years. With the economy in the tank means hiring freezes in gov't, which means more overtime and more money for me.

I go to school full time and make about 15-25k a year working about 10 hours a week playing gigs and teaching violin lessons in my spare time. I pay my rent, bills, and tuition, but my parent's cover insurance, food, and gas.

You know I actually THOUGHT about doing that. Just starting to buy a whole bunch of stuff for the car at once...one thing after another.

But then I figured why? ahaha. I went to get a quote for coilovers, new tires, new rims...the guy even said he would throw in a free synthetic oil change. 5700 bucks for just the parts! That didn't even include installation of the coilovers, mounting, balancing.

I almost had a heart attack. Theres no way, even having a stash in my savings, would I ever shell out that much money at once.

My conscience would haunt me.

I almost cry at the pump for 58 dollars to fill up the tank haha.

Maybe I'm ghetto...i dunno.

I'm rambling, Im bored at work and Im high haha.

Ok next post...

2.50 is not bad. i filled up few days ago and 93 was between 2.60 to 2.70. I dont really care tho bcus its still cheaper than what it was last summer. I remember i filled one time and 93 was 4.20 or something and i still filled up.

sad thing is i only make 200 bucks a week and i still had to spend half or it on fuel. lol

^4.20/gallon is nothing unusual for Canadians .

I got my car when I was 17 and was fully paid off (about 15k from me and 17k from my parents) from working at a crappy call center for most of high school.

I am 20 now and made $21k last year before taxes working 20/hrs a week last year, full time university student. I pay for my tuition (heavily subsidized by our socialist state), insurance (again, subsidized by the socialist state), and any expense related to the car. No rent or anything else though. Wish I made more money, oh well, only 1 more year until I am done my first degree.

Wow that sucks to read, I heard AB was taking the grunt of the recession but did not know it was that bad. MB is still smooth sailing for the most part but we were not particularly booming to begin with in any particular sector.

i worked at a car dealership for a while then quit there to become a lead in a warehouse. which i make more now than at the dealership which makes paying for the g35 easier.

damn.. when i get paid on friday i will be like 28k something.. i just dont want to pull less than 70k this year cuz i was so close to 80 last year... but since we are pretty close ytd, your 65-70k estimate is probably a good estimate for me too... just sad cuz i always meet my goal of getting paid more each year than the last and this year is will be fail...........probably

Asking how much G35 owners make will not explain how the mods are paid for - it depends on so much more: do they pay their own rent/mortgage? do they have school debt? is the car paid off? what is the insurance? age of owner?
After answering all of these you can get a feel for how much 'left over' cash you could spend on your G.
I'm assuming most people that have nice mods choose that over other fun hobbies, and the people who's Gs are totally decked out either know someone who cuts them a deal or they're sponsored. My .02
