wheel hub. I was putting on my new rims and tires. I changed the back one with no problem, but when I got to the front I notice a extra stud or peg and cant fit the front tire on. I have read that it is just a stud so that the factory wheels do not get rotated. Can anyone help me with this. I have put a pic so you can see what I am talking about. Thanks

yes, it's safe to remove, don't worry about it. It is as u say.

 

Just take it off, it's just to prevent you from putting the oem wheels on wrong!

Thanks everyone. I took it off and put my new wheels on. No problems yet other that the TPMS went on. Just need to figure if there is a way to disarm it now.

 

From what I understand, TPS cannot be disabled. However, I have heard of folks putting all their sensors inside their spare, inflating the spare to proper psi, and thus tricking the TPS system. However, Im not sure if the g35 has the ability to determine positioning of the sensors (i.e. whether or not they are located where they should be on each wheel).

Yes. Its a bolt head, just turn it with a wrench.

The 2003-2004 coupes for sure had different size tires in the rear than the front. Two of the stock rims had a relief hole for the extra stud to nest into. This was to prevent mixing the tires from front to back and vice versa. For cars equipped with the 18" wheels the rims were the same size, however the 17" rims had a different offset in the rear than the front. so the extra stud prevented them from being mixed. If you are replacing the rims with aftermarket, you can remove the extra stud, just make sure they don't interfere with the brake calipers.
