Service Engine Soon

Hello again everyone,

This is the lady owner of an infiniti. I have 2004 G35, my question is I have a light on my dash saying service engine soon. Now, I called the dealership and read the manuel and I tried the whole gas pump sensor and the light stays on for a couple of days and then it turns off then it comes back on again. The light is steady so it is not blinking because the dealership said if it starts to blink you definantely have to come in and get it checked out. Has anyone had this problem and if so can you please help me!!!!

Thank you so much Guys!

Usually if the SEL is blinking, it means random engine misfire.

There is no way of telling what code is being thrown other then taking it to a mechanic and having them read it for you or try going to autozone or somewhere like that and have them read it for your for free.

Service Engine Soon

Thank you so much, however what is an autozone? I live in Canada so I have never heard of this before and really clueless about or where to get free information about my car. I thought of taking it to the dealership however I can imagine how long they would take to solve the problem especially if its a sensor

Autozone is an auto parts store here in the states. You could take it to a local parts store and ask them if they have a code reader. Most places will do it for you for free. Good luck.

These folks may be able to help you out...

http://www.carquest.ca/english1/index.html

I notice there are no advance, napa, or autozones up there. But Carquest might serve the same purpose and it looks like they are up there.

Compression Rod

Thank you so much for the carquest info. I will contact them and see if they sell compression rods for a 2004 infiniti, hope they do Cross my fingers. Have you ever had to place compression rod yourself?
