LoJack?

Hello everyone I know there's alot of alarm tracking companies out there. So I was wondering which one is the best way to go. By this I mean no reacurring fees, free online tracking etc. I've heard of companies such as LoJack, forcetracker and Geo Tracer to name a few. So,Does anyone have experience with any of these systems? or is Viper alarm system enough what you guys think..

I've had experiences with some different alarms (Vipers, Avatar, some el cheapo alarms, and the Clifford Intelliguard 770/ AvantGuard 5.1). The best IMO is the Clifford series. I never had any problems with it. It never broke down. It outlasted my 92' Accord. It has lots of user options and design features to prevent false activations. There are really so many features and benefits it's hard say it all in this thread. You should do some research in it. It's worth a look.

As for LoJack, I have it in my '08 G35 sedan now. The previous owner of the car had it installed with the early warning detection. It cost me $200 to have the LoJack technician come out and inspect the system to make sure that it was still working properly. After that, he printed a certificate that I faxed to my insurance company to get a 15% discount off of my comprehensive. You won't be able to get a certificate any other way. I've had 3 false alarms with the early warning detection system so far. Not a big deal, better safe than sorry.

Two schools of thought here. A traditional alarm will hopefully deter a theif from stealing your car or breaking into it. So, you should do your best to deter theives from attempting anything on your car.

OR

If you believe that a thief (if he really wants to) will steal your car regardless of what anti-theft devices you have on it. In this case, you should get LoJack. The point is that since you can't keep a thief from stealing your car, at least you'll be able to recover it for the most part.

Thanks, dockersguy I've done some reasearch but I really wanted to get a perspective of what other people have experienced.Since all companies promise you the moon to sign up with them. I will keep in mind you're examples though, thank you for your input. I thought that LoJack said they only protect the original owner of the system for life, not the second? But in your case that was great to only pay $200 for it.

I had a Clifford on my Silverado and the only problem I've ever had was with the remote. You have to take good care of it because if you drop it and the antenna gets screwed up, you're kind of screwed. I had to disconnect the alarm and order a replacement remote. Other than that, it was a solid alarm system and I really loved the little screen of your car that shows the status of the car.
