Oil Consumption, Clutch Cylinder Problem!!! Warranty Help?!!?
Oil Consumption, Clutch Cylinder Problem!!! Warranty Help?!!?
Hey guys here is the situation. I got my car brand new back in July of 2006. Its an 06 coupe 6mt.
Problems so far...
Oil Consumption - I checked the levels and oil was almost all the way at bottom of stick.
Clutch pedal not coming back all the way after shifting or only coming back a quarter of the way, when car is really hot after driving a while and its hot outside.
also Door molding keeps coming off when I open driver door, very iritating.
My question to you guys will Infiniti cover these things under warranty the car has 22,000 miles but is 37 months from purchase.

Ugh your in for a headache.. I can tell you that right now!
Covered under warranty unless you voided your warranty.. go to the dealer and refuse to leave until they fix it.. there are so many threads about oil consumption that will help you. It will cost them over 10k so they will give you shyt until they run out of things to say. Keep in mind they have to prove that its your fault in order to get out of it. If you haven't taken it in.. put your car back to stock and remove as many mods as you can. Every mod will be a problem. Just went through the problem 7 months ago. Try the search and you'll funds tons of info or pm w specific question.
Clutch- Not sure what the specific problem is. As long as you didnt just wear out your clutch they should fix it. Clutch is maint. though so goodluck w winning that one over.

Yes, dealer has to prove that the mods caused the failure.
However, in the case of engine performance mods...they could make a sound case. We all know it's a defect in the rings, but showing up with mods gives them ammo to fight you that your high performance mods caused the issue. Plenty of guys in the OC threads have stated this exact reason for dealers denying them new engine. In that case, you'll need to get a laywer.

Does anyone know if anyone has had the rings replaced to combat the problem, if so did it work??? I have an 03 an I have approx 120k miles and I go thru at least 1 qt every 1000 miles or so. I am thinking about have the engine rebuilt with NISMO pistons and rings, but I don't want to shell out all that cash if I am still gonna have the same oil issues....
It would be better just to get an engine from people I see them sell for like 1.5-2k. If your going to get a rebuild it's gonna cost you alot of money unless your do it yourself and have all that time to rebuild it.
