sti or g35
for ex. my moms camry cost her like 50 bucks. (fairly new car)
she jumps to a lexus and it all a sudden is like 125.
We have both, they both have their strengths, but i prefer the G.
G is more comfortable, better on trips, looks better (imo) etc etc.
STi spanks the G, gets more attention, and makes a good noise.
Quality sucks on the Subaru vs the G.

so its fairly easy..STI will be more to insure.
My 05 G coupe 6MT costs less to insure than my brothers 08 accord sedan or my mom's 08 Camry V6, and all 3 cars have same coverage/deductible..etc..
oh yeah, and your mom's "new" Camry should costs more than $50 a month, unless shes not decently covered with $500 or more deductible. It also varies alot by states..but trust me, I work for Allstate..
I've been debating the same thing. I could really use the 4 doors + awd for work, especially during the winter months. I love the G35 though, and with good winter tires, its not bad in the snow. Like everyone said, the STI is fast, but thats about it. Think about it, how often are you really going to use all of that power. We have speed limits here. If you track your car, then forget what I just said. Either way, it doesn't look all that great from certain angles, its interior is a big downgrade from the G35, insurance is a lot higher, etc. I chose to stay with the G35... for now atleast.
Besides, G35 = chick magnet. STI = dude magnet.

Uh... turbo + AWD = high insurance. I had an 06 STi and my insurance went down almost $60/month with the G35, same coverage.
the evo and sti are more expensive then the g because the fact that it is turbocharged. the average age of a driver is younger with an evo and sti then a g35, and also there is more accidents with an sti or evo then the g. I researched them a whole heck of alot before i bought my car
Why do people call G's chick magnets? They're absolutely not chick magnets.. Even if they are, they would be attracting some pretty ghetto *** gold digging girls.. Wrong attention.
OP's car is 03 or 04..STI he is considering is 08? or 09?

My sti had an higher insurance rating than the G. My insurance for the G is cheaper. There was only like $1k difference in price so that rating (which takes into account percent of cars wrapped around trees) is what drove my G insurance lower.
BTW I loved the STi. I swapped out a college kid for WRX hood scoop and spoiler, so it was less boy racer, was a great DD even in CNY winters. But the second kid drove us into needing something a tad larger. Happy with the G, but the grass is always greener
