There's no question that if you want a faster car then the STI beats the G hands down. The thing is, it really isn't THAT much faster... I wouldn't even consider all of the other downsides you'd get with the STI just to gain a few tenths in the quarter or a second around the track. As a daily driver the G wins all day imo.

ur right about the down sides. and DD but 1/10 faster? nty.
2007 infiniti g35 (coupe) 0-60 ~5.5.

2008 subaru wrx sti 0-60 ~4.8
those are just approximates.
times vary considering time and skill.

so its fairly easy..STI will be more to insure.

My 05 G coupe 6MT costs less to insure than my brothers 08 accord sedan or my mom's 08 Camry V6, and all 3 cars have same coverage/deductible..etc..

oh yeah, and your mom's "new" Camry should costs more than $50 a month, unless shes not decently covered with $500 or more deductible. It also varies alot by states..but trust me, I work for Allstate..
my moms new camry is like a 2005. and shes driven like 21 years without a ticket

our coverage is high because in any case we dont wanna lose our house in case of an accident.

I said a few tenths. I didn't look up specs but when they line up it's not like the STI disappears into the horizon... I'm basing this on what I've seen at the track and when I go Autocrossing. You're right, driver skill does also play a pretty big part as well.

My STI insurance was cheaper than the G. I have no speeding tickets.

I suspect the opposite would be true for those with tickets

Sounds like you need to reshop your insurance. That's unheard of.

STI coverage was 1500/year for 100/300 coverage, uninsured, rental, the works. 500 deductible.

My G was 1650/year, s2k is 1400, Corolla was 950, MR-2 was 700, VR-4 was 1300, Miata was 650.

All rounded off to the best of my knowledge. Coverages are between the ages of 18 and 24.

Those are for individual cars, not all at the same time.

I'm paying about $200 a month now. I was paying $140 last month, but I guess one of my tickets showed up even though I'm finishing up online traffic school..

He has an a/t 04 coupe, yes the sti will be in the horizon. The sti will rip 3 more a$$holes in the coupe.

If you are comparing to an 07+ G, that would be different. The sti will pull on you hard with a good driver off the line still, but the g will catch up. By that time you will be doing over 100, noone really drives that fast.
