Any real differences between '06 and '07 Coupe?

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I've tried researching some on the net and haven't really been able to find a precise answer. I'm searching to buy a used '07 MT g35 coupe this coming January and I am interested in finding out if it's worth it to just limit myself to '07s or if it's worth it to expand my search to the '06s?

So I guess my question is if there are any significant differences between the '06 model vs the '07? Obviously I understand that the '06 model would be less expensive with less miles in many cases but if there are any other significant differences other than that, I would just opt out an '06 overall and just search for '07s. Thanks.

I may be wrong, but I don't beleive there was any changes/improvements between 06 and 07. There were changes to the 2006 model (which was the reason I limited my search to 06 and 07 (as opposed to an earlier model). I went with the 06 because of the overal price difference and not much difference in miles.

I think the only real difference is going to be that the car is newer so it will probably have less miles and more of the factory warranty left.

good luck with the hunt!

2006 has 10 more torque.
2007 has 15 more horsepower and increase in redline.

therse a HUGEEEEEEE difference. 07s have a HR motor compared to a DE motor for the 06. and they fixed the OC problem for most of the 07s

On the sedan yes but virtually no difference on the coupe. The coupe retained the VQ35DE through '07 until the '08 redesign where it got the VQ37HR. Only the 350Z and G35 sedan had the HR motor in '07.

For reference the '07 G35 coupe press kit...the VQ35DE in the coupe was re-rated at 293hp in '07 following changes in SAE corrections. The VQ35HR was rated to 306hp at the same time but was never offered in the G coupe.

Thanks for the replies and especially to mishap's article. It seems like the biggest upgrade they added to the '07 coupe 6MT was the available rear active steer system. Looks like I'm going to keep looking for an '07 unless I can get a one-of-a kind deal for an '06.

06's had rear active steer option. I have one.

The biggest difference between 06 and 07 is the dual throttle bodies on the 07 if I am not mistaken

Just buy an '06. You won't be missing out on anything important! I'm fairly sure there are no differences between 06's and 07's, intelligent key is irrelevant since you want a MT.
