So....did you pull the dipstick and how much oil did you use in the last 1300 miles? You paid $75 for an oil change because it's Miller Imports and they're in beautiful downtown Van Nuys? LOL You can still do your own oil changes just save all your receipts. If you need your G serviced take it to Nissan, it's been my experience they charge 40% less. (in Santa Clarita) Good Luck Wednesday!

I'm going to emphasize that I'll need i need to be present when their technician pulls the dip stick to measure the oil level.
Wish me luck!
Check it yourself cold in the morning before you go in. Take a pic of it too. these engines push oil up the dipstick tube when running
and need at least a half hour before it drains back down. They will check it after 10 minuties and the dipstick will still have oil all over it.

Patience and resolve gets a new engine.

Unfortunately i'm not able to pull the dipstick out to check the oil level myself. The Infiniti techs put this grayish paste on the dipstick, the oil drain plug, and marked the oil fill cap to make sure i don't open it and somehow get some oil out of it...
I know they're going to BS me and try to come up with any type of crap to avoid doing the right thing...which is replace the block.

We'll see what happens tomorrow morning!

Thanks for the support, guys!

After all the process, did everything work out well? What were the results?

To me it is what drains out that you want to measure. That is you drain the engine and let it drain for awhile. Then you refill with a known amount of oil to refill. You then drive it for x number of miles (and yes I would seal the openings as well, it is suppose to be a good test), and then you let it sit, then drain and measure what you drain. Seems that the test using simply the dipstick is flawed for the benefit of Nissan.

Man good luck.. Nissan took my car and made me start the OC test however they only gave me 1000 miles instead of 1300 like yours.. Right now the car sounds like a semi truck or something.. Shaking and wobbling but smooth idle.

The dealer never told me not to touch the dip stick or anything. They were actually VERY cool. There is no zip ties or anything on my car.. They emphasized to bring it back ASAP if anything goes wrong which I am.. He also told me not to add oil.

I'm still very worried they will screw me over by topping it off. My car is running like a$$.

If I pull out my dipstick is there a mark i'll accidentaly wipe off and they'll deny me?

They told me 1300 miles. I hit the mile mark they asked but i noticed that it is not 1300...it's 1000 miles. So far, they have BSd me with a few things.
I'm going to keep my car keys in my hand and ask that they bring a tech out to check the dip stick in front of me. I won't let my car out of sight because i have a feeling they will do what others have claimed...if the oil level is low, they will top it off, then call the owner of the car to show that the oil level is perfectly topped off. I cannot let them get away with this.

It does sound like Nissan is a little more respectful with their service and much cheaper than Infiniti. If Infiniti gives me crap for this process then i'll definitely head over to Nissan.

Good luck with yours!

Thanks bro. I actually came up with the idea for me and you..

Get to the dealer about 1 hour before your appointment time and let the car SIT for that 1 hour so the oil drops down and settles.. Then make them call out a tech and check it infront of you.. Don't get there on time while your oil is hot and had it bounced everywhere.

Or, bring the car in on a tow truck.

They denied warranty because of my exhaust system. Im in the process of talking with a lawyer to resolve the issue.

Great idea! Thanks bro. I'll show up about half an hour to an hour early. They said they'll need to cool the engine down for about 20 minutes so it'll be much longer than expeted.

Oh man. There's no way they can do that to you! They have to take it in with/without the oem exhaust. They have to prove the engine issues were caused by the aftermarket exhaust system. They can't deny service or void your warranty without proving that.

Good luck with your lawyer!

You wouldn't be able to borrow an oem exhaust system just to bring it in for service?
