UPDATE!

I just got a call from my Infiniti rep (David from Miller Infiniti in Van Nuys) with great news!
My new engine block replacement is on its way into their dealership! I should be able to drop off my car some time around early next week. My rep is going to make sure he sees the parts himself before calling me in for the remaining process. Woo hoo!!

Congrats on the success! Let us know once you get it.

I got a question.. When checking the oil on the dipstick, you pull it out once, wipe it all off then put it back ALL the way in and pull out out again. So once you check it again where do you count the oil level? Where you see a thick obvious amount of oil in between the H and L lines or do you count the smudges/ very very light thin traces of oil about the H line?

Thanks! I will definitely keep you posted. I'm sure this process is helpful to a lot since it's a known issue that Nissan will unfortunately will not admit.

You would measure (in millimeters) from the H level to the obvious thick amount of oil. Some oil remains in areas of the dipstick but your measurement should be from H level to the thick amount marked on the stick.
Your result depends on your the mileage though. So if you're pulling the dipstick about 1000 after you did you oil change, or 1500, or 2000.... the results are obviously different.... Take a look at the PDF document from Infiniti. This will help determine if the engine is burning more oil than it's supposed to.
I hope that helps.

Ok yeah I saw that and I saw how thick it was on that oil dipstick in that PDF.. Mine seems to have gone down far (in thick oil measurments) from the H line but my mechanic checked it and he said im full and topped off, he said that they might have over filled my motor with oil.. He was counting the very small smeres and extremely thin traces that were way past the H line though.

Are you getting all these done through Nissan or Infiniti?

Took the car to my friend who has his own shop who called my aftermarket warranty.. My warranty company said to take it to Nissan.. I took it to nissan and I got the car back for OC testing.. None of this is through infiniti.

My car is back at Nissan 400 miles later because the car is a cylinder misfire and it was blowing thick white smoke through the exhaust.

Thick 'white' smoke is coolant entering in combustion chamber. Head gaskets might the issue with that. Oil = blue smoke.

G/L with everything...

Service advisor called me up telling me I'm consuming heavy oil and that was only 400 miles into the test. Also told me that I have a cylinder misfire which I already had figured and was shocked that the car started acting up as soon as it left the dealer ship. He never mentioned anything about taking it back and completing the 1000 mile test or picking it up anytime soon which I guess is a good thing? BUT here's a pain, he says my warranty company called and they want to see ALL my oil change records since I've purchased the car.

So 21,830 miles to 69,000 miles.. Just about 48,000 miles worth of oil change documents. I'll have to start scavenging around to all the places i've gone to for oil changes. There's always a drawback lol.

Thanks, I'm not sure if it was PURE white because this was at night time in the middle of traffic. I know the blue smoke you're talking about, the white color with the blue tint. Could have been the case as it smelled like burning oil.

Gotcha. Yea if only coolant, it's smells like coolant with a weird slight sweet smell. Hard to explain. Smelling burning oil is a given and obvious what it is.

Watch-out for dealer games. Amazing stories over the years what they try to pull on owners to deny qualifying. I have my own stories about games played buried in those thread links. Some dealers are fine, some are real jerks. Some mod friendly, some not. Beware and watch them like a hawk regardless how friendly they seem......

Hey guys!

I just dropped off my G at the dealership since my new replacement parts (engine block etc...) arrived this past weekend.
Hopefully it'll be done by this coming Saturday...

I'll keep you guys posted!

Good luck for those of you going through the same issue!

Man.. This is getting annoying.

So I finally had gotten all my oil change records in last thursday morning.. Nissan faxed them in to the warranty company. So finally today (Monday) I get a call back from nissan and my service advisor tells me that the warranty is reviewing my oil change records and until then they ( warranty co.) wants a wet and dry compression test of the motor plus a complete tear down. After they get the results then they'll see what they will do or what they can cover.

I'm sick of the run around. I haven't had the G for over a month.

Dude that sucks! Are you doing this through Infiniti or Nissan? It sounds like they're doing everything they can to avoid doing the work on your car.
It just seems like they're expecting you to back out of it.
Is there another stealership you can take it to?

I got my car back with a fresh new block, gaskets, exhaust manifolds, after 3 days. They did an awesome job with mine. I hope they do the right thing for you and replace what they need to without giving you a hard time. You should consider taking it to a different dealer.
Are you located in California by any chance?
