Anyone know if our G's can take a larger oil filter?
Like everyone implied, different (larger) filters can fit. HOWEVER, the thing that bugs me is how about the bypass valve pressure? If it's different what (if any) effect that will have on the engine.
If you think about it, wouldn't it be easier from the manufacturer's (Nissan/Infiniti) point of view if they standardized on the same oil filter for all their vehicles? Since they don't, there probably is a reason. So my opinion is to stick with either OEM OR the aftermarket equivalent to the OEM designed for your vehicle...

I've said this about 13 times. The maxima and G filters are spec'd out identical or almost identical. They made the G/Z unit tiny for space reasons or something. I can't remember other than thinking it was a retarded reason.
You guys actually think the VQ35 in the Maxima or M series are all the diff than the one in our Gs? In oil requirement terms, they ain't.

The first time I bought a K&N filter for my G I looked at it and asked the clerk, "Where's the rest of it?" I just started using the K&N 1010 which is slightly larger. Ordered 5 today on line for $10.85, shipping was free for purchases over $50....next order 2K11.Gary

Wix makes the Napa Gold line of filters. I use the one for the M45 (1356). http://www.napafilters.com/filterloo....asp?Part=1356
If they were the same with Infiniti, then why would they (from a business point of view) want to stock/purchase 2 different parts that meet the same specs? Doesn't make sense.
