when the g35sedan came out everyone wrote the best reviews about it...all the editors were baffled,, it was cheaper and much better than all its competition: the 330i, the CTS, w.e. was in its category it outperformed them in every way

look at the 2003 bmw sedan.... no one wants it.....the cts looks like **** now...the g35 sedan still is awesome.. and its an infiniti so its going to last forever... u see people with 200k on the dash selling them for 8k

idk if i could have found a 330i 6 speed at a bmw dealer for the price i paid for my 04 G(14k) I would have taken it. And the G was burning lots of oil and I had the motor replaced under warranty at 69500 miles which doesnt bode well for it lasting forever. I would have prefered an IS300, but the numbers just don't compare to the G's performance or MPG wise.

It's a mass-produced mainstream sedan.

Maybe 100 or so years from now, ANY car still kicking around from the early 2006's will be a classic, but I don't think anyone should be rushing to put their G35 in a barn and cover it up thinking it's going to appreciate exponentially over the next few decades.

Then again, you do see the occasional 1980's Benz or BMW out driving around from time to time. WHile not valuable cars, they do have a sense of uniqueness of being one of the few left.

Sometimes it's nice to drive your car around and not see 3 or 4 of the same model every day. Those who still have their G's 10 or 15 years from now might begin to see that and know what I'm getting at.

But for the most of us, we'll enjoy our cars, but then down te road, something else will catch our eyes and we'll move on.

Unmolested stock 35s are pretty rare now. I drive around in one and when I see others it stands out I think. Cars went in this really angular styling so the G’s are pretty unique with their soft curves. Also, it ends up the G35/37 were some of the last sports sedans to have direct steering control. They aren’t classics right now. But I have a feeling with the way the car market looks now, in another ten years a lot of the sports sedans of the G35/37 era are going to be prized.
