IF Ray's makes the non-forged wheels for Infiniti, then they will also make the non-forged for the Nissans. There have been reported accounts of 350z wheels cracking after powdercoating. Ray's have an industry leading casting process....I really don't think Ray's wheels would crack after powdercoating.

And then it wouldn't make sense why infiniti would cherry pick which cast wheels to be casted by Ray's and which by enkei. Enkei makes the 19 inch M35 Sport wheels. That's been confirmed.

My OEM wheels have been PC twice - tracked hard and haven't cracked... so have lots of others...

Enkei also makes the G37 wheels - so?

Sorry - but nothing you stated indicates they aren't Rays or that they are Enkei...

Enkei makes the G37 wheels, sure they do. But I was trying to keep it 03-06 per original discussion. I just don't see Ray's making cast wheels for infiniti/nissan all the while Enkei does too. All the confirmed Nissan+ Infiniti wheels made by Ray's are monoblock forged.

original discussion was G35... so Nissan and M35 mean as much as G37...

we know that the forged are Rays... the entire purpose of this thread is to determine who makes the cast wheels...

So far that hasn't been determined for certain (meaning undeniably)... until then the thread will keep going nowhere...

Since Infiniti is under the Nissan umbrella, it would make sense for Nissan to use the same oem wheel maker for as much of their line as possible. (makes production/cost sense). It would explain why both Nissan and Infiniti both feature their forged wheel line from one maker, Rays.

Logic would say, they would do the same for their non-forged line. IMHO of course.

^^^ when the original thread started - the entire subject began when a member recapped his visit to Nissan NA and saw cast wheels being made...

So based on your logic either they were shipping the cast wheels to Japan (which is completed stupid - and can US use JWL mark?) - or no, Nissan line isn't using the same as G35.

I swapped my OEM wheels onto my car so it can sit yesterday and saw they say taiwan on the back.

So I decided to call Rays (25 minutes on the phone waiting for them to find someone to speak english to me) and I asked them if they had a manufacturing plant in Taiwan they guy said no, they don't have anything manufactured in Taiwan.

Soooo, all the cast wheels were definitely not made by Rays Engineering.

Actually no. My statement and logic don't reference whatever you are referring to at all.

So the answer was a 25 minute phone call away

what is the number?...

25 minut call to Japan just for this seems awfully expensive...

I'll wait for Zacks contacts - as I trust the source (no offense to whoever you talked to)

I applaud 4dgs's efforts. Nice man. 25 min is a pain in the ****.

I looked at Ray's website and they did not have a facility in Taiwan. So while not as black/white as your information, I deducted that they also didn't have a facility there.

And thanks for the made in Taiwan stamp verification.
