Rays make WUT?
For anyone not following the thread that this all started in... I didn't create this thread... it stemmed from the thread about Powder Coating cast wheels (which isnt a problem btw)...
There was some miss-information about G35 being built in TN or Mexico rather than Japan... and lead to a useless debate about who makes 03-06 cast wheels...
I dont know who bastardized the thread - but they created a new one and my post is first - so I wanted it to be clear, I didn't create this boring nonsense.
not all of 'em

this is just the Infiniti line of Rays... there are boatloads of other Rays that are cast... you can see them all here:
http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/indexe.html
not to mention other car manufacture specific Rays wheels that I'm sure are cast...
The coupe 7 spokes from 03/04 aren't forged, they weigh about 25lbs.
I have never seen the 16, that would look soooo wack on the G lol But you're saying rays made? or deigned? all the wheels on the Gs? Thought they only touched the performance wheels. Cool to know though.

G has 16, 17, 18 & 19... 16 are very, very rare and cast... 17 are cast - 18 sport are forged I think, not sure if there are cast 18s - 19 are forged....

Yea I knew about GLs and G games and what not. It's not like we said they only make forged wheels.

start at post #13... and read from there... (it's easier than me posting the quotes)...
if you have been to the nissan plant, you would know that rays does not make all of nissan/infiniti's wheels. yes, rays does manufacture cast and forged but they do not supply nissan with their cast wheels.

As far as them not supply Nissan with their cast wheels, I presume you are referring to Infiniti as well (again, we are talking about G35s here)... if so, are you willing to bet your OEM wheels against mine on that?
first of all, I never said Rays supplied all of nissan/infiniti wheels... nor did I imply that... we are talking about G35...

i would abosolutly take that bet... seeing as ive been on a tour through the Tennessee plant and saw with my own eyes, wheels being cast.
just think, nissan casts their own engine blocks, suspension components and various other parts, why would they stop at the wheels? why would they sublet their wheel castings to a company located in japan? again i use nissan/infiniti as a whole rather than just the G's and Z's.

i should have stated G/Z rather than nissan/infiniti. you did imply that all G/Z wheels, being cast or forged, were supplied by Rays.

Yes or no?
As for Rays being the only wheels - I never mentioned the Z... I said all the Gs (and I am referring 03-06 (I dont know what the G37 or 07+ sedans are using - but they might be Rays as well)... All this was very clear in the context of each post... please read from #13 on so I dont have to quote everything to make the point.
Anyway Rays cast wheels on G... bet please

The entire car was built in Japan - what makes you think they wouldn't use a company in Japan... you think they cast wheels in TN and ship them to Japan to be installed then ship the car to the US? Or do you think they ship the G from Japan without wheels and the install the non-Rays forged here?...
I dont know what you are trying to say - but much of it has been wrong... and I'm hoping to win a set of wheels (I need a decent spare
)
