I just purchased my 06 coupe 6mt and it has "REV" on the gauge cluster and wont turn off...what does this mean?

 

um.. REV stays on its a REV LIGHT and you can change the REV SHIFT LIGHT RPM by PUSHING THE NEEDLE ON UR GAUGES. WHEN YOU SEE THE 8000 THEN PUSH AND HOLD THE NEEDLE AND YOU CAN SET YOUR OWN PREFERENCE ON SHIFTING POINT. ONCE THE 8000 STARTS TO BLINK YOU JUST PUSH THE NEEDLE AND THE NUMBERS WILL CHANGE.. SET TO UR LIKINGS AND JUST DONT PRESS ANYTHING IT WILL SAVE IT

I had mine set so it wouldn't flash when they delivered the car. I've been driving a manual transmission for 20 years and told them I don't want it telling me when to shift. It's still lit up, but doesn't flash.

its a switch gear indicator....it will come on before you redline usually... however you can set it to light up whenever you like.

 

I have my linked to speed - it flashes as I approach 80 mph, and goes solid. It reminds me to be extra careful.
