Why the hell are you cross shopping these? G37 is more comparable.

Speed wise

335
G35
A5

335 easily.

G35 and A5 are pretty close both run mid 14s.

if you want something fast, then get a 335i,
if you want something reliable and pretty quick then get a g37, i don't know why you would buy a 335i and not consider the g37 but you considered the g35.
The a5 isn't very fast but it looks good and its a audi so reliability is sort of a issue

335i responds very well to mods and can be a very quick car for a reasonable price.

The prices of the cars you want are all over the place. For the price of a 2008 BMW you could buy a 2007 G35 and put a twin turbo kit on it. Dollar for dollar, that is what I would do!

Wow how are those cars considered comparable by price? If money is no issue go with the 335i, easy. Great power, great response to mods, awesome quality and looks. Or you go think of the g37 and adding the new stillen sc, yum!

Go with the 335 if you plan to mod. Best bang for buck mod-wise. A5 looks the best but seriously overpriced.

335i (IMHO) is better than a G35 in performance(specifically handling and brakes), build quality, interior, comfort. BUT!! the maintenance is going to kill you, and the early 335i have known problems with over heating and fuel pump failures.

Cant say much about the A5 since I haven't driven one.

BMW.

It'll be new enough that there won't be any huge maintenance costs right away, just be sure to change the fluids, keep it clean, and just take care of it and you'll be fine. Everyone hates on German cars for having insane maintenance costs when most of the time it's because the drivers don't take care of the car. If you can do the labor yourself it's even more reason to get the BMW.

My next car will likely be a 3 series BMW, but I got a few years lol

just curious where did you get this information from?

Handling is not significantly better in any car if we compare coupe vs coupe. Both have similar handling but a completely different feel. I have said it 100 times DO NOT CONFUSE THE WAY CAR FEELS WITH HANDLING!!!!

G35 breaks are actually better and will last you longer on a hard track session before they fade compared to the BMW.

What maintenance? Any car that goes to the dealer for maintanance work is going to cost you arm and a leg including the G35.

BMW is significantly faster than a stock G35 in straits...
