sometimes i wonder how nissan japan markets their cars and have people happy and willing to buy luxury high priced nissans/infinitis under the nissan name.

Because they were not as shallow as the US market...

People would question why they would spend 30k+ on a Nissan when all that was needed was a name change. If Infiniti did not exist I would still have purchased my G, can't say the same for others.

I hope this is true. I've always thought Infiniti needed something like BMW's "M" cars or Merc's AMG... or NISMO... or Mazdaspeed... or TRD... wait, is Infiniti the ONLY company that doesn't have a performance division???
