You forget that it's a rebadge Nissan. I too am disappointed with the creaks, squeaks, pops, and rattles. For a car this heavy, you would think they did something to help reduce noise.

And yeah, I've had less problems with my Integra and my Honda CRV.

Do Infiniti dealerships do like.. a tighten up? Like, go around the car and tighten up all the nuts and bolts and such on the car, in and out, to get rid of squeaks, creaks, pops and rattles? Or anyone else know of a place that might? I hate all the little sounds in my car -_-

1/4" ratchet, 10mm socket and some time and you can do it yourself With those tools it's about 95% of interior.

04 77k, swapped both window motors, a lil of the clutch sticking (only on the "colder" nights in socal), radio/headunit= POS, but everyone knows and accepts this. Other than that all good, thankfully, she's a beast and almost completely mechanically stock (jwt clutch and flywheel aside)

I've got the dreaded axle click on my 03 coupe at 98K mileage. It's so effin annoying, but it's a sad day when an Infiniti is cheaper to fix than my 03 Z71 that I traded in for it...

With nearly 90K miles, I've had only 2 problems with the car-- the CD player went bad and was replaced under warranty, and the brakes and rotors were replaced at around 45K. Nothing else to speak of.

Note that Consumer Reports rates the 04 as an excellent year and the G35 in general as a very good car overall. It is as reliable as most top models (Acura, Lexus before the new issues, Toyota, etc.). True-Delta, which receives info from many of us on the forum, rates the 04 as the most reliable year up to the 09 model I think.

Overall, no car is problem free, there are no guarantees no matter which car you buy. However, almost all European models (Jag, Mercedes, BMW, Saab) have significantly lower reliability than the 04 G, although they all likely will have a nicer ride quality.

Just my $.02

By the way, my mpg is 27-29 highway and 22-24 city, all in very mountainous terrain.

[QUOTE=jibberjabbers;5178243]* window motor going bad
*
my 03 cp 6mt has NONE of the above problems with 55000 mi. runs like new. and to the many people now say they will look at BMW....I traded my 3 series 5mt cp at 64000 when it was falling apart and could no longer stand the car being at the mechanics most of the time.
people need to take their time and check out a potential car. its not that hard to tell a car thats been beat and will give you a headache down the road...and last I was considering buying a 2010 370Z conv. after much due diligence I figured i ALREADY HAD THE BEST OF THE BEST.....AND was not willing to spend the time finding another GEM.

Wow I have a 04 5mt with 113### on the clock and the only issue I had was the drivers seat was broken and the dealership replaced the whole seat for free.

That list of problems is just all the things that COULD go wrong. Its not like its ALL gonna come up at once. I have an 03 and I have none of those problems. Im also at 99k. so far..

CD player is almost going bad but I ussally listen to radio or iPod so its not too big of a problem.

Compression rods might be going bad but doesnt affect the drivebility. It just makes sounds when I first drive the car in the morning and thats it.

Minor squeaks here and there.

Brakes are really I mean REALLY dusty but nothing aftermarket pads wont fix.

My driver seat "rocks" also. Only about an inch though and I never feel it when I drive.

Gas mileage, ehhh could be better. I average 22 mpg mostly freeway, cruise control at 70 mph all the time. Its alriiiight after hearing other members that get 27 mpg tho...

Just annoyances, not big problems...

Truth is any car u get nowdays that had years on it like an 04, you are bound to have tiny problems here and there. Theres 4 cars in my house hold and they ALL have problems. You just cant get away from them. its just the really BIG problems u should worry about...which the G35 really has none.

The only "real" problem my car had were worn suspension bushing on the front end. The rest was my OCD. Car has 95k. Owned since 88k.
