* window motor going bad
* door lock mechanism going bad
* window seals going bad (the Seal on the 2003 Toyota Celica is 10x better than ours).
* 50-70k - Spark plug gasket will start to leak oil. Commonly on the #6 plug (cost 400+ to replace). As high as 1k at the dealerships.
* clutch pedal sticking
* sunroof making "popping" sounds whenever you go over a bump
* seats start to rock back and forth (rails starts to go bad).
* car will give you a hard time filling up the tank
* rear axle clicking
* compression rod/bushing start to bust (Infinti issued a revised bushing/rod).
* oil consumption on all models. More commonly on the rev-up. But some 5AT drivers have complained about this issue

------
The G35 has over 70 TSB's and over 8 major recalls. Latest one being the Air bags and the Radiator fan.

Or an Acura or a Lexus. I wouldn't mind getting a TL-S or the IS-250. IS-350 only comes with the paddle shifter. (boring).

I wouldn't trade the Infiniti's potential problems for the BMW's

You're not likely to have ALL those. You're most likely to have problems with the radio/cd changer though (which is the same circuit board as the AC)

Do a site search for hvac problems and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Don't let these problems effect your judgment too much most of these are easy fixes if you have some mechanical ability, with the exception of the OC problem which is less prevalent in the non revup motors. Most of the things listed are normal wear problems that most cars will have. Infiniti/Nissan are pretty reliable cars as long as they are taken care of. Just be sure it has service records and it should be OK and if you're unsure take it to a Nissan dealer (better service techs) to be checked out.

Yeah, mine's an 03 with 118,000mi and I've only had ONE problem off jj's list (seat is just now starting to rock)

But I've had ALL FOUR "problems" off hotdawwgman's list

Is there any way I can check if the cylinder #1 and #6 are leaking without removing the coil?

........ Had I read some of these lists I would have never bought a G35. I've had none of these issues, but you forgot one....poor quality brakes. Which can be resolved by using aftermarket pads like Hawks rather than OE which are big time junk....

I second the question about the oil from spark plug. Is this something that would be noticed/mentioned at service (like the 60K service)? Or something like oil dripping on garage floor?

I'm at 68500, and the only issues I've noticed is the seat rail issue, which I've had fixed twice under warranty. Still have 3 months remaining on extended warranty.

The only other "issues" I've had are battery replaced (affects pretty much all cars), front brakes (wear), tires (wear), windshield (rock), paint (parking lots, other cars run red lights).

Only way to find out is to pull out your spark plugs.
