Shortest distance you jump started the G

About a 2-3 weeks ago when I was changing the valve covers and I left the keys in the ignition and left 2 doors open and the trunk so lights stayed on. I got done and when I went to start the car it would turn over twice slow and stop. 6 year battery so I wasn't surprised. I got in and put the car in reverse and the keys in the on position. Used my right foot to push the clutch pedal in and my left leg to push the car backwards on the drive way. Before I even got to the street I let the clutch out and the car started. This was on a leveled driveway. Did not go more than 5mph.

I measured the distance from the garage door where the car was to where the car started and it's 30ft.

Sorry I haven't had that pleasure with my coupe....yet. My driveway is on a major angle so it would be very easy....

I thought I read in the owner's manual that push starting isn't good for the car? I couldn't think of a logical reason why it would be damaging, but the need to try has not arrived for me.

It damages the catalytic converters because some gas doesn't burn and detonates in the cats. Don't know that for sure thou. I have no cats anyway and I didn't hear any detonate in the exhaust.

G is an AT, so I can't comment on this with it... I got pretty good at doing this with the 6MT Trans-Am I had, but it took a lot to turn that motor over.

The most crazy one I saw was a friend of mine push-starting his 00 Impreza 2.5RS... driveway has baaaaarely any slope, and we only rolled about 10-15 ft... couldn't have been going more than about 2mph
He bumped the clutch and fired it right off... needles to say, I was like this:
