Ok i have G35 coupe 07 and i want to remove the badges off the back i kno its held on adhesive whats good for that i live in fl by the way.

Be ready to polish the area afterwards.

 

if you're in florida, leave it in the sun and then peel it off.

 

Ok i used goo gone to day with hairdryer etc and washed it my friends help but there is still outlines of the badges will that eventually go away? or do i need to do sumthing?

Dont waste your time with dental floss. The letters and I think even the Mt Fuji have little indentions on the bottom so you can fit a very small flat head screwdriver behind them and pry away from the car popping them off very easily.

Then instead of making a huge gooey mess with goo gone, take your thumb or index finger and roll the adhesive with your finger. It comes off fairly easy. Any left over residue can be removed with goo gone.

Another trick I learned over the years with emblems is if the adhesive is a large piece, after you pull the emblem off, peel a corner of the adhesive left on the vehicle and pull it away from itself but keep your hand close to the surface of the vehicle. Most emblem adhesives are like those 3M Utility Hooks, where you stretch the adhesive and it breaks down the adhesive characteristics leaving nothing behind.

I buffed my trunk with Meguairs Ultimate Compound and then Color X. Cant even tell there were letters there.

I took mine off last week and resprayed(bc/cc, not sh;tty spray paint) them black to match my car.

I just did this myself and the fishing line seems to work better than the dental floss and as others have said you'll have to buff it out to get rid of the light scoring from dirt and debris

 

Max, if you'll try doing a SEARCH under subject "Debadging" there's a ton of information available. Since you have an '07 you shouldn't have any issues with shadows, just follow the recommendations.

+1 loosen up the adhesive.

 

I took the "g35" emblem off my coupe a little while back.

-Heated it up a bit with a standard hair dryer (rule of thumb for a hair dryer or heat gun is: If it's too hot to place your hand in front of, it's too hot to use on your car).
-Wiggled some fishing line behind the emblem to get it off
-Held a napkin soaked with goo gone on the sticky residue for a minute or two
-Then switched between rubbing it with my fingers, and holding the napkin on the residue to saturate it some more. (It was actually a lot easier to remove the residue with a rubbing motion opposed to a scratching motion)


After the residue was all removed I washed and dried the area, then applied a quick Mothers three step detail (cleaner, sealer&glaze, wax).

The car is a 2003 model year but the emblem came off fairly easy, and I can't see any shadow where the emblem used to be (could barely see one the day of the cleaning).
