Anybody have a sound clip of when the VDC activates?

I have no idea how to activate or de-activate a VDC on a g35 nor do I know how it sounds like. I also don't know the adverse affects of activating the VDC while driving.

Again, I drive a 1GA DSM, we don't have those kind of things.

Can someone explain how to activate/de-activate a VDC and why I shouldn't activate it while driving?

All I did was take it for a test drive and look it over.

^ Read up what it does, it keeps your *** on the road and it should not be activating when your driving. If it does then you should learn how to drive. There is no adverse affects.

Hey guys, o just got done test driving a bone stock 07 g35c and it sounds totally different. A lot more smooth sounding. I'm assuming there was something wrong with the 04 coupe I test drove yesterday unless 04s and 07s sound different. Help me and chime in.

Im giving you these words to search because its been overkilled here. Rev-up vs non rev-up. Also the midpipe/y pipe may have been rusting out or coming apart. Its hard to tell without the sound.

Also from the sound of it, its a manual i assume? The flywheel could have been replaced with an aftermarket and he just forgot. The aftermarket is lighter and tends to chatter at idle and sometimes low speeds.

The '04 was bone stock, no mods - ever. The owner is a middle aged married man living in the suburbs, and definatly not into modding cars. The car only has 23K, so nothing was replaced.

I check every inch of a car before I test drive them. Definatly nothing rusted out or falling apart.

The '07 was bone stock as well. Never modified, and from a local dealership.

Both were 6 speeds, but the '07 sounds totally different. A whole lot smoother and quiter. The '04 has a rumbling sound starting off and slowing down.

At this point I'm scrapping the whole G35 car deal and looking for an EvoVIII or IX.

Yey! I just popped my cherry!!!

I come from a 1g dsm (actually still have it) and just got an '06 g35 coupe and love it. I didn't know anything specifically about the g, just cars in general. I looked over my g thoroughly and even brought it to my mechanic to have a look just to make sure, maybe you should consider doing that too. Look it over and test drive it like you did. If something doesn't seem or feel right, then don't buy it. Especially for the money that you are going to pay, make sure you are happy with the car. Sounds like the '07 would be a better buy.

I actually still have my 1G too, lol. This is the best advice I heard thus far.

I looked over the '04 G35 throughly, and I've come to the conclusion that something doesn't sound right with that car and that rumbling sound is not the exhaust like the owner said.

The '07 model that I looked at was nice but I didn't want to buy that car in the first place, just test drive it. The '04 was Twilight Blue and had OEM Brembos, which I like and I know are discontinued. The '07 was this Graphite Gray color or something which I didn't really care for and priced a bit too high in my opinion.

Could it be drive line growl translating through the stiff suspension. Some cars you can even feel it a bit too.
