I change both at the same time, but I'm only running 4K between changes. Some people like to go 6K or more on their oil and know it's not good to run a filter that long.

I'm running castrol syntec now because it was on sale, normally I stick to my mobil1.

However, they also had a deal on Castrol2000 so I did the oil in my lexus as well. I don't think I'm switch over to Castrol but damn they have some wicked deals sometimes.

and LOL at people like fram filters, they're in business because people are stupid. Do you ever see fram sponsor any kind of race event? no because they don't appeal to anyone who gives a **** about their car, they appeal to people who don't know anything.

I pretty much always use amsoil, K&N or Mobil filters, others ones sketch me out. (although my G had a quaker state one on it last change but I didn't trust it so swapped it out at 2k for an amsoil.)

I undersand your point about Fram. Their low end filters are merly good enough.

But you do know Amsoil, K&N and Mobil don't actually make their filters right?

I usually gp fpr the castrol gtx non synthetic oil and fram filter for $17. I don't use the filter though. I buy a purolator pure one. But getting the fram saves $2 off the oil.

Yes, I like to use conventional oil over synthetic...nothing wrong with synthetic. Personal preference.

And if any of you guys like fram filters....I have 3-4 of them for a g35 that I can't make myself toss in the trash.

GTX is great oil, btw Syntec is also mostly made of Conventional with 20% syntetic stuff in it. So its just a really high quality Conventional.

I wouldn't run royal purple. For the price they want, there are better alternatives.

The filters are good, but the oil doesn't do too well in the VQ

How much does one of those Royal Purple filters cost? They sound expensive.

You're welcome guys :P

Is there any difference in using "high mileage engine oil" in 100,000Mi + vehicles, rather than using Mobil1?
