Buying Oil at AutoZone

AutoZone have a speacial deal on Castrol oil that is $29.99 for 5qt. plus the filter. The oil is fully synthetics 5w-30. Is the oil and filter good to use on our g35 coupe. First time changing the oil at home. Thank for the advice.

My guess is Bosch. That's the majority of their stock when it comes to oil filters.

yes it is. Castro syn is very good oil.

just be sure to get Bosch or K&n filter, which ever they offer. And stay away from the Fram filters.

I bought the deal and did my oil change 4 months ago. The filter was a Bosch, which is a good filter (might be a different filter now). Interestingly, you can get a consistetly better deal by buying the 5qt jug at Walmart (~$21) and a Bosch or Pure One filter at PepBoys (~$5-7) for less. I buy them in bulk now when I see a deal, so have 4-5 filters and 5 jugs in my garage.

I use Castol Edge BTW and change the oil every 8K miles, and the filter every 4K. Last week I found Castrol full synthetic, 10 bottles for $25 ($2.50 per bottle), so I'm always looking for clearances.

Depending on where you live, if it gets cold there, that's a good oil weight for the winter.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

if they dont make good filters how are they still in the air/oil filter business for X amount of years?

If a company makes a bad product they are usually gone pretty quick

Why would Autozone,Oreilly,Pep boys, and wal mart sell bad filter to thier customers?

I worked in a parts store for 3 years while going to college. I read up on all the filters I posted eariler, never had a customer complain once about any filter

fram filters are junk.. yes they can do the basic of a 3k mile oil change, but when it comes to it being a performance filter... it's junk.
