g35 coupe y pipe hanging to low?

g35 coupe y pipe hanging to low?

so yeah...my y pipe/flex pipe is hanging to low...i have megan test pipes with invidia gemini exhaust. its a true dual with a x pipe and my flex pipe hangs to low and scrapes...alot...any one else have this issue?

same problem

i have the same problem with the same pipes i got the megan test pipes, Y pipes , i was thinking about trying to see about getting them lifted at a muffler shop, do you have a problem with the pipes making a weird noise?

Same too. Flex pipe on my Nismo Y pipe got so shredded I just had them replaced with regular pipe

i dont even have the regular pipping...=[ but what noise are you talking about? mine just smokes sometimes when i get on it. but my muffler is making noises or exhaust bangs on my sway bar....

it kind of hard to say , sounds like it between my test pipes,and the y pipes on the passinger side , it makes the sound some time when im only going 60 on the freeway i never had that sound before i put the y pipes on. im going to have to get it checked out soon

na never had that problem. only when im around 1300rpm my exhaust would bang on my swaybar or something but other then that nothing.

I have a thread about this noise, but its not just at 60- its pretty much whenever the car decelerates and passes through 2200-1500 rpm. Best way to describe noise is "rattle snake".

^Might be a bad catalytic converter. I have the same issue, something has come loose inside of my right CAT. It hasn't tripped any codes yet.


And yes, my HKS Y pipe scrapes all the time.

^Sorry, i didn't mention - I have top speed headers, JDM test pipes, JDM y-pipe, and RSR GT2 cat-back. Its coming from Y-pipe flex pipes for sure.

I doubt if many members here have your exact set up. Easy fix, go to a muffler shop and have them weld a bracket in the area where you're draggin....problem solved!

Muffler shops can replace those flex units and have the ability to install so you're not dragging. You still may need a bracket unless somewhere in your system you have one that's not attached. Why'd you let this go so long....?

My MR Y-Pipe scraped a lot on speed bumps because I was dropped. It really bothered me and I finally saw how much damage was done when I replaced my exhaust. The cats were also pretty beat up lmao.

Exhausts hang low on the g35. Mine for sure did, and i'm 100% sure it was mounted right. If you drop your car and get an aftermarket exhaust, scraping is something you should expect. It's almost unavoidable unless you don't drive onto driveways or speedbumps.

The flex section of my y-pipe was pretty beat up, but no leaks or noises. It worked 100% the same as the day I bought it. I sold the y-pipe to another member here and I'm sure he's still doing fine with it.

If you buy the right aftermarket exhaust system eliminating the y-pipe you'll be high and tight with no worries about dragging. I'm referring to a real cat-back dual system like HKS. Yes, you'll still need to 45 degree driveways/speed bumps but that's all part of being lowered....

it went on for a month...i had the exhaust on for about a month basically. and i scrape on the highway when my car bounces >.<
