No, your manual says every 3000 to 5000 miles

I did my oil change around 4000 and my oil was real dark. Try to change it around 3k. Even though manual recommends 3000-5000k miles.

I would change your oil every 3K miles and you can start using synthetic with your next oil change. By 4K miles you can start changing it every 3500 miles along with using a quality filter like Mobil 1 or K&N. Enjoy your ride....
