Depends on which state you're in. 75% of aftermarket catalytic converters are not CARB legal but honestly if it looks like a cat is there and there aren't any codes being thrown you would be good to go in most cases.

So...when would I need to, if you can clarify. I have an '06 and bought my car used from the dealer in '08. Does that mean I won't have to till 2014 or is it 2012? I never got it smogged when I got the car.
