Moving on from the G??
Don't hold your breath. That's nothing but speculation and wishful thinking.
My friend has a BMW and I have to admit; it's a nice ride but I just feel the G35(as dated as it is) still has a smoother look to it. The one thing I will admit; it seems that the G37 hasn't been holding it's value as well as I thought it would (been finding 08 6MT's going for mid 20's considering it's a 40k car).
I've thought about trading in my car but having another car payment just seems like a waste considering there is always something new coming out; but if I were I would lean toward 370z or an Audi A5.

Old...G35!
Weii not me! I'm hanging onto my 2003 G Coupe. I'm getting very close to hitting the 20,000 miles mark. It will be 8 years old in December. It shares the garage with my 1990 Mazda Miata which turns 21 yrs old on the 16th of December. Both the G and Miata are style setters. The first generation of automotive history,
BMW is much more of a driver's car..
i used to talk a lot of **** about them until we got one.. and i can see where the $10k premium comes from..
G37 is MUCH better value, though.. if you can afford a bimmer.. go for it..
don't mind the haters... i used to be one..
it's like guys saying a boxster is a poor man's porsche..
again.. i was on that bandwagon until i drove one.. lol...

I will probably keep my car for awhile. It will be paid off in 6 months (I leased it new for 4 years, then refinanced at the end of the lease due the to amount of equity I had in it and the fact that the lease company allowed me to renegotiate the buyout by $2k lower.)
I reallyi like the 335i, but I haven't driven or ridden in one, and I keep hearing about all the maintenance-related issues folks appear to be having with them, I'm really on the fence. The G37 has definitely grown on me over the last 3 years (especially if it has been lowered and has a nice ground effects kit on it) but that rear end still sucks IMO. I'm curious to see what replaces the G37 in the next couple of years. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a 325-250hp engine, sleeker design, and a 200-400lb weight reduction.
If I were to move on it would be:
1) Lexus IS250 or maybe IS350 ( don't like paddle shifters). Fsport
2) Lexus ISF
3) Lexus GS Fsport
4) Acura NSX
I'm going to stay away from Nissan/Infiniti. Don't like how you can't recirculate air w/o having the AC on. Not sure if it applies to all Nissan cars though.

I definitely would love to drive a 335i but I'm afraid that it would push me into looking at getting one when I promised myself that I would wait at least a couple of years before pulling the trigger on another car. I just got my G35 (at the time; my 'realistic' dream car) 2.5yrs ago....but I already see myself searching for cars such as BMWs, 370z's etc.
Considering I'm going through tires almost after 14mo; I'm thinking I might save money in the long run by getting a new ride but I just keep telling myself don't do it bc of hte car payment.

I tuely do not understand why so much interest in the 335i. I can only assume that you just want to say "oh yea I own a BMW". The new G37 has 30 more hp that the 335. Now if you guys really want to man up go Mercedes AMG. Let's start with the C63 AMG. About the same size as the 335i but with a whopping 451 hp. One step up and you get the E63 AMG 518 hp. I own a 2010 benz E-class coupe and can confirm that it is a great car. Unfortunatly it's my wifes car so no AMG. The Benz AMGs are far better cars than the BMWs. You'll pay more but you will get more for your $$$$$.
That said, i plan on keeping the G for another 5+ years so reliability was extremely important. I'm not going to consider a bmw until i'm filthy rich or their reliability goes back to where it was back in the day.
Also, I feel Mercedes is curtailed a little more to being smooth and luxuries as possible while bmw feels more, I don't know, like a more connected experience. That said, I am talking out of my *** right now cause i have never even driven an AMG. Always loved BMW since i was a kid.

I got mine about 2 years ago and it's been paid off for like 5 months now. It's an 04. And I've always wanted a m3 but seeing how a tuned 335i will smoke a 05 or below m3, made me want a 335. I can afford the payments and insurance but I my self don't think I deserve it cuz I'm only 19

well im probably going to part out my 04, and try to sell it, then get an 06 or 07 and start a fresh build. so i can enjoy the keyless entry, keyless start, projectors and updated taillights, highrev engine, oem 19 rays, new interior trim.
