When is a new clockspring neccessary?

I am thinking about getting new steering wheel airbag for my car.. but the thing is i dont have the two plugs.. the previous owner cut them off but the wires are still there... is it safe to rewire the two plugs? or is it time for a new clockspring..?

Must agree.. just a quick question why are those wires cut in the first place.. clock spring as well is going to run you very deep in the pocket thats if you do the work yourself...

My volume button and Seek/track button stopped responding I changed my stereo to a double din pioneer and added the steering wheel controls. It stopped responding before I changed the stereo. Volume works only when you turn the steering wheel but not when it's straight. My question is would I only need this piece http://www.ebay.com/itm/171122896027...84.m1423.l2649

or the entire assembly? with turn signal/Wiper?

Make sure if you replace it yourself that you transfer the steering angle sensor that is mounted on the back of the clock spring(spiral cable). If not you will have vdc/slip light issues that will drive you crazy trying to figure them out

Replace it.

Nothing like driving around with a shotgun pointed at our face and faulty wiring.

What do you mean transfer? Do you use the sensor from the new clock spring?
