****ing deer

driving the canyons monday night and a deer came out of no where. My passenger side headlight hit it square in the chest. Smashed my headlight and fender and tore up my bumper cover. By the time i slammed on my brakes i already hit the poor thing. Immediately looked for a turnout where i could get off the road and collect myself. Couldnt help but weep a little. That was the first time I hit ANYTHING and i was definately shaken up. After about 10minutes or so i turned around to go check on the deer but it was gone Hopefully its okay... although i doubt it because that was a pretty hard hit. Now, im just hoping my insurance will cover this

Thanks, curryboy. but wtf?! how do you die by hitting a deer? thats just crazy

The pictures dont do it justice, the damage looks so much more worse in person. theres even a little bundle of deer fur stuck in one of the cracks...

^ Well I guess the people that hit the deer swerved off the road.. Maybe you should upload some more pics in daylight to really asses the damage.

Sucks to hear OP. If you have full coverage insurance will cover it, at least they did for me.

The problem is that when deer get spooked, they tend to jump, which would quite literally put the mass of their body about even with the windshield of our lovely G rides...

Look at your insurance policy - if you have Other Than Collision coverage (or OTC) it should be covered minus whatever your deductible is.

Deer have an awesome habit of traveling directly in front of cars, then through the front windshield. 250 lbs at 40 or 50 mph is enough...Glad you're alright.

We do have deer in Florida..... I hit one about 5 months ago. Destroyed my passenger headlight, and left 7 or so dings along my fender and door and spider cracks all over my front bumper... Still havent gotten around to fixin em. Been savin up for bodykit/Projectors/paint... hopefully by July, itll be all done. And when everyone askes "what about your insurance" well I got an insurance check, then got arrested for some b/s, then used the money for attorny fees and other expenses. -_____-

Learned **** the hard way, I guess.
