Oil Change (to Synthetic) power loss?

Hey guys, I think i might just be being a little paranoid. Little backstory, bought a 2005 G35 6MT 30k miles on it. Just got my oil changed for the first time yesterday. I switched to Synthetic mobil 1... I dont know if its because the car just feels smoother or what, but I cant tell if theres a power loss? or its just my mind playing tricks on me since the acceleration is smoother?

If you got the same viscosity as before there is no change at all.

Why would their be a power loss?

I put German Castrol Syntec in my G35X and I don't notice any power loss.

There's no possible way you're going to lose power by switching to synthetic, if anything your engine is running cooler and far smoother. You should also notice a difference when you get your 30K mile service since it requires all fluids replaced. Have an independent shop or Nissan do the service rather than Infiniti, cost will be at least 30% less. Don't forget to check your belts!

Your mind must be playing tricks on you. I think I read something once about variations in HP with different synthetic oils. If I remember correctly, the car was a 350, and Mobil 1 made the most hp (only a marginal difference) of the bunch of oils they tested. Anyone else remember something like this?

have the temps been hotter?

The past month has been one of the hottest in texas. Over 100º for like 30 days and most of those days it was 105º+.

Hot days make my car run crappy, which makes sense since cars arent designed to be operated at these temps. Even my coolant gauge has been little high.

The other morning it was 75º and man!! The car ran like a banshee!!
