umm... as for a manual... i have no clue lol. But im assuming it should be something along that route. probably just unscrew it. For the automatic we have a button that we need to push so that is why we need to take the pin out to remove the ****.

well the reason im concert about this is because i read it somewhere to be careful how to unscrew or how i pull off the shift **** or i can mess something up.... i mean on my old cars it was pretty simple like u said all i did was unscrew it and pull it off, but i dont wanna do that to my g35 i want to hear from ppl that already done it lol

Be careful when you just try to unscrew. There is a proper method to break the loctite loose that is applied from factory. The transmission is direct linkage and the pivotball is a weak point in the transmission. When you try to unscrew and apply torque the shifter starts to tweak and flex. The proper method is using a crescent wrench / strap wrench on the shift **** and get underneath the shift boot cover and use a vise grip pliers to hold the shifter straight so you do not torque it when you try to take the shift **** off.

VERY WRONG! You can cause a lot of damage approaching it this way.

Follow the guide the other person posted, make sure to wrap the clamps/pliers/w.e with towels or else it will mar your ****. First time might be pretty tough to get off due to the glue on the threads.

Make sure you grip the bottom HARD with a vice with towels so it doesn't turn when you unscrew the shift ****. If you rotate the bottom piece, you will fck up your transmission.

My bad, I bought the car used off my brother and he had already removed it a few times so by then the thread locker wasn't very tight and just unscrewing it took barely any effort.

Follow the guide

Mine took two people to get off it was on pretty good. I held the shifter straight with a pair of vice grips and a buddy of mine unscrewed it with another set of grips. Only took about 15-20 minutes but I would make sure not to be moving and jerking the shifter back and forth.
