Anybody purchased factory extended warranty for used G35?

I was told by an Infiniti dealer that I can purchase extended factory warranty (3yr/36k) for a G35 even if I didn't purchase the used G at an Infiniti dealer, and as long as the car is still under the original 4yr factory warranty and under 60k miles.

Anybody tried doing that ? How much did you end up paying for the extended warranty?

Thanks.

lol yes, It may have been slightly more than 1K dollars, I purchased it when the car had 40K on the odometer and then car ran flawlessly until the warranty ran out..Figures

Depending on the year, our cars are generally extremely reliable, unless of course the previous owners didn't take care of it. Read the warranty very, very carefully. Under the warranty the radio unit was repaired X2 and my cost was $100 each time. But suspension problems related to the bushings were not covered ($500).

Overall tho, if I had to do over again, I wouldn't have bought a warranty. The cost for an extended warranty usually exceeds 95% of any repairs (with exception of a blown engine or transmission, which these cars are not known to have-- unless you have an oil consumption problem, which affects your engine). Just have the car checked out extremely well by an independent mechanic, and do try to get one that doesn't have the dreaded seat controls right on the seat.

Good luck.

Yes, purchased an extended warranty for my 04 G35 coupe with 44k miles on her.
Bought mine at my local NISSAN dealership.
They replaced my AC compressor and my seat motor and assembly under the extended warranty.

I have never bought a car warranty or any type of extended warranty.

The cost of the warranty is usually equal to most large repairs

If you are a DIY kinda guy then NOT getting a warranty makes even more sense.

thanks guys.

the thing about warranty is ... you will need it when you don't have it. don't ask me how i know ... (long story short, bought a dryer without extended warranty, end up paying about 60% of what the dryer cost when it was new to fix it ... )

I bought my G with around 58k on the odometer. I bought the warranty with 3 yr / 36k mile warranty with $100 deductable for around $1,500 with 60k on the clock. I was told you can purchase the extended factory warranty as long as you have less than 70k on the odometer. I have used it once since I bought my 04 in May'11. My window regulator and motor were replaced.

I bought it for the peace of mind if something major went wrong. I keep up on periodic maintenance and keep all receipts!!

Make sure you get the real infiniti warranty, only a real infiniti dealer can sell those, not a nissan dealer. Infiniti of Scottsdale, AZ is known to sell them on the internet for big discounts, they may even be a sponsor here donno. I think Courtney is the person to ask for.

I'm on the fence myself, but I have TP's and a catback and plan to have osiris uprev tune, I'm just guessing the uprev alone would void all of my warranties lol. They may even refuse to work on my car with the TP's installed - I haven't even tried since I put them on. Seems like all the mod friendly dealers are in Cali!

He's correct...^...Infiniti is the warranty to buy, most other aftermarket warrantys aren't worth the paper they're written on!
